"And so I chose grandmastery of alchemy," said Durri. "I knew it would be useful. I made a potion that makes me look human again, and wanted to get into business selling my potions, but apparently you need a very expensive license from the Alchemy Guild to do so."

Hudson spat onto the ground in contempt. "Anyone who turns someone else into sausage is a bad person," he said in a firm, proclamatory voice, as though uttering a secret truth which no one had ever considered.

Shudon looked intrigued. "I could sense there was something magically strange about you," she said, "from the moment I saw you. So you're actually a golem under an illusion. I've heard of that sort of potion, of course, but I thought their ingredients were quite expensive and the knowledge itself was a carefully kept secret."
