Chapter 20: To Kill a Dragon

Durri threw up his hands in frustration. "What, are you insane? We can't kill a dragon! They're gigantic! They breathe fire! They can work up an appetite by burning down a town and then devour a whole flock of sheep for dinner! What possessed you to think we could possibly take this on?"

Hudson seemed completely unfazed by this reaction. "Your lack of confidence hurts me, good friend! With your alchemy, Shudon's magic, and my glistening musculature, is there anything we cannot do?"

His sister slumped down in a nearby chair. Other patrons were staring at them—even those who had grown used to Durri's frantic potion-making—but she paid them no mind. "Killing a dragon," she said. "That's a thing we definitely, certainly, without a shadow of a doubt cannot do."
