Chapter 26: The Temple of the Gods - Part 1

DURRI'S POV

"I'm beginning to think," said Durri, standing in the middle of the street, "that you don't actually know where the Temple of the Gods is."

Hudson chewed on the stick of chicken with a big grin on his face. "No, I swear I remember! Third time's the charm, as they say."

Shudon sighed. "We're followers of the Ancient Way, Durri. I don't know why you believed Hudson when he said he knew where the temple was. He clearly just wanted to stop by his favorite food carts."

"I was trying to give a friend the benefit of the doubt," Durri said testily. "Though I'm now wishing we'd just asked for directions, like I wanted."

Hudson shook his head vigorously. "No, it's right there! See the little gold spire?"

Durri looked where he was pointing. To his relief, a gold spire did, in fact, poke above a nearby block of buildings.
