Chapter 39: Wormsign

As they progressed through the underground tunnel, more lichen and mold became apparent on the stone walls. The smells of dampness and vegetative decay filled Durri's nose.

He could identify various alchemical components among the plant growth, to his relief. After Migus' claim that Durri's senses would be diminished after his repair, Durri had been afraid he might no longer recognize any ingredients by scent.

Unfortunately, though he could still smell components, some of Durri's other golem capacities had grown weaker. Some experimenting had shown that his internal water reservoir could only hold about enough for six standard potions now, when it had previously held twice that amount.

His body seemed less capable of keeping ingredients fresh. He would need to be careful about what components he stored inside him, rather than stuffing everything possible into his torso.
