Chapter 12

Citizen Hill

Citizen Hill woke up. It was still dark, and everyone else was asleep, aside from Dak, who stood guard sitting up against a rock about thirty yards away. She didn't have to sleep as much as a fleshy, but the human parts in repair still needed rest. Even more so now, after her electrical injury. The bullet hole in her arm was no longer an issue. She just had to keep it covered to prevent infection.

She stood, and her legs twitched.Damn. I need a re-set bad.She looked in her pack. Only half a hydro pack remained, so she left it alone. She would need it later.

Sid trotted up. His gears spun and whizzed as the bot sat. A whining noise came from his speaker.

"Well, good morning to you too." She smiled and reached out to pat its metal head like she had seen Bless do multiple times.

Funny how they could design a machine that not only acted like a real dog but brought out human emotions from the other fleshys.
