Inside Paul's apartment, Kade cringed. He wanted to spend more time with Crystal. Who was he kidding? He wanted to kiss her until the sun rose.  


But he had to go slowly with her. Women left when he moved too fast. Regardless, they split as soon as they found out about his past. Either they didn't like the fact that he was a police detective or that he had been a criminal. And if he hadn't left when he did, he'd have been arrested for lewd public conduct.  


He was more afraid of falling in love quickly, not wanting any more mistakes. Everything had to be perfect.   


But how could it when already their relationship was filled with lying holes?  


When he closed the door to Paul's apartment, the shower was running. Great, Paul was up. And as he glanced around the apartment, Paul's car keys were now on the coffee table. He snatched them up and dashed downstairs. Maybe Doug had news about Paul and the FBI.
