BEAST

At dinner, and after several of Kade's jokes, Crystal relaxed. When he'd shown up at her house unannounced she didn't know what to do. She couldn't make him wait on the porch while she hid the blueprints and her black mask and gloves. What if he had seen?  


When she found him in the kitchen, with his hand on the cabinet she had stuffed the papers inside, her mouth had gone dry. Had he already seen inside it? Was he closing it back?  


Then the edge of her mask was poking out from the silverware drawer. She was slipping. Actions like this would get her caught before they were ready. Still, she swallowed back her nerves and allowed Kade to make her laugh as he tried to work the chopsticks.
