Brady swung wide, the blade zipping in the air before Ruby as she jumped to the side. Her head was pounding from their fight and the blows he'd landed on her. What would Tommy say if she didn't beat this guy? If she lost? Keep your focus! 


She couldn't think about Tommy or what might happen. Any slip and Brady could have the advantage or hit a major artery and she'd be dead within minutes. 


"Bitch! I'm gonna cut you up until there's nothing left." He swiped down, and she blocked the blow with her arm. 


But the blade grazed her forearm. Blood dripped down onto her shirt. 


"That's the first slice." He grinned. "How many until you're small enough for the ants to carry away?" 


"It's a scratch. Guess you don't know how to use a knife properly." She kept her arm pressed to her middle to try and staunch the bleeding. Last thing she needed was too much blood loss. The wound wasn't deep, but she'd rather stop the blood now. "If I had a weapon, you'd be missing your whole arm."
