The deities are crazy.

Satiah and Aaru walked down the market both their nose and mouth covered with a veil and a shawl covering their head. The two walked quietly with each having different thoughts in their minds.

Aaru was still confused on what to believe. A spirit taking over the body of someone else is always evil and the host will have to go through a painful ritual to get it out. Those spirits behaves differently from how the said spirit in his friend was behaving. On one hand he was finding it difficult to believe his friend is possessed and on the other hand, he believes it wasn't really his friend in her body. He was just so confused about it all.

The Egyptians at the market were all dressed differently and uniquely that Satiah couldn't help but admire the way they dress. Unlike the movies she had seen and the queen that came to the courtyard, the ladies were dressed differently. The men too.

"Tell me how everything happened in details, you promised." he said drawing her attention to him.

"Like I said, the world I live in is developed and advanced. We don't use horses or camels or any animals for transport, we use what we call vehicles. I got hurt in my car and was rushed to the hospital, that is where our physician stays. I opened my eyes and found myself in a place called the realm of life and death. Satiah was there too. We were asked to choose between life and death as one of us most die and the other live. She choose death and I choose life. She said she had nothing to live for so left. Now here I am, in an ancient world."

He said nothing as they continued walking. Satiah kept throwing glances at him and noticed he was trying to clean off his tears. He must really adore his friend so much.

"Don't worry, I will find a way to leave this body soon and you can have a proper burial for your friend."

"I will try my best to bring her back. I don't believe she is dead. Even though I die searching, I will keep searching from the spirit world. You should leave this body, imposter. I only have one friend and her alone." he said.

"I don't want to be your friend either. Friends are evil and I hate having one." she said.

A little girl ran to them and held the hem of Satiah's cloth. "Are you looking for the sorcerer?" she asked.

Aaru bent down to her level, "Yes, where is she? We have something important to tell her."

The girl stretched her tiny hand towards them, "Your pay...."

Aaru brought out a golden necklace and gave it to her much to Satiah's awe, the necklace will cost a fortune. The little girl smiled.

"That is pure gold, why waste something like that?" Satiah asked in a whisper.

"You really want to see the sorcerer, then you pay a fortune for it. She is not cheap." He replied and held the girl's hand.

Satiah rolled her eyes at him and held the girl's other hand. Satiah felt herself falling into thick darkness which lasted for a minute, then she was pulled out of the darkness. This time, they were in front of a cave. The girl teleported them to the cave.

"The sorcerer is inside." the little girl said pointing at the cave. She turned to a black bird and flew away.

Satiah screamed in fright and held Aaru's hand tight when she saw the girl shifted to a bird but he removed her hand from his and went inside.

She closed her eyes and took in a deep breath, trying to calm herself. "I have to do this, I have to go back to the future. Beside, ancient Egypt has magic." she breathed out and went in.

She walked in, behind Aaru with her heart beating fast. The cave was narrowed and the floor was wet due to the water coming out from the rocks. Aaru entered an entrance that looks like a room, with Satiah behind him.

The room was surrounded with lighted candles. And in the middle was a table with books and a large candle in the middle. By the right side wall, where jars filled with portions. The designs on the wall gave the room a dark aura.

"Don't hold my hand when you see things that frighten you, the sorcerer is scary." he said to her and went further into the room. Satiah swallowed nothing and went after him.

"You took too long..... I have been waiting for you." a voice said.

Satiah shifted back in fear but Aaru remained standing.

"This is my kingdom," a tiger appeared from the wall and growled, "What are you doing here?" it asked.

Satiah gasped and held Aaru's hand, breaking his rule. This time, he didn't pull her away as his eyes were on the sorcerer.

The tiger became a woman frightening Satiah the more who used Aaru's body for protection, and he smiled amusingly at her fear.

The sorcerer walked to her table and brought out a book. She opened it and pointed at a point she had marked.

"There it is, the right portion I need." she said and went to pick a portion.

"We are here to find answers cave sorcerer...." Aaru was cut off by the sorcerer who hummed to a song loudly.

Satiah looked at her with widened eyes as she hummed the familiar song. It was one of her songs. She was humming to one of the song she sang.

"My.....my song."

"This song is the worst but I can't just get it out of my mouth." she complained pouring a bit of the pink liquid into a hot pot. "The composer did a very nasty job there."

"You know me? Are you from the future too?" she asked amused.

"Nonsense, I am from this time. I teleport to different times." she sighed and looked at her. "If you are looking for a way to get out of this body, then there is no way. The deities did you a favor by bringing you to this life. You have suffered enough in your life, but in this life, you are destined to be a Queen. Enjoy it dear." she said and continued reading the book.

"Forget everything? My life is still in the future and I need to get back at those people who hurt me."

"Life have been so harsh on you Marie..... Your eyes shows anger and pain. It won't be easy for you to go back."

"Is there a way to go back?" Satiah asked in a serious tone that showed anger.

The sorcerer looked at her again and sighed, "Only the deities will decide to take you back, so you have to please them and they might have mercy on you. But how will that be possible?" she asked and laughed.

"What?" Satiah asked shocked at the news. If her body dies, then she is stuck in Egypt forever. She can't let that happen to her. "No..... I can't let that happen, there should be a way out of this. There should be a way." she cried shaking her head in disbelief. Her life will be over if she gets stuck in Egypt. This is not the new life she wanted to start.

"Accept your destiny my dear....."

Satiah cut her off, "No, I won't accept this destiny. This can't be my destiny, my destiny can't be this awful. I will change my destiny, I will rewrite a new life for myself." she said with a strong determination and left the room.

Aaru was shocked at the revelation and the confirmation that she wasn't really his friend. He tightened his fist and went after her.

"The deities are crazy, poor girl." the sorcerer said and continued mixing her potion.
