Game of strength

THE PALACE, unlike any other places in Egypt, was the tallest building and decorated with golds. It had numerous chambers for each Pharaoh's wives and children.

And just like every other days, Queen Baketmut laid down on a bed close to the window with her head on her knuckles and her leg on the other, in her chamber. Beside her were three maidens who were dressed in a transparent white linen, revealing their inner wears. One of them was fanning the queen, the other held a tray which contained jars of new wine. And the other maiden held a tray of fruits. The queen's eyes were closed, but her mind was wondering about. Her son is getting married in three days, her dreams are finally coming true.

"The second prince, Prince Asim is here to see the Queen." the guards at the door announced, forcing the Queen to open her eyes.

The Prince walked in and bowed at his mother, smiling broadly, "Long live the Queen Regnant." he said.

"Don't flatter me son, I am not a queen Regnant yet."

"But you will soon be..." he replied and sat at her feet. "How lucky I am to have such a wise woman as my mother, you are the wisest and deserve the throne of the Queen Regnant."

"I never disappoint, I always keep to my promise remember. Your mother don't fail. And don't worry, you will be given the post of the prime minister when I am finally crowned the pharaoh's beloved." she said and laughed loudly.

Prince Asim smiled and picked a grapefruit from the tray held by the maiden. He winked at her and ate it.

"We should throw a party after our victory and my other siblings will be invited to pay homage to you, oh queen."

"That will happen, very soon."

"Got a message from my spy that Karim will be back home today. He will be fighting in the game of strength this evening." he said eating more grapes.

"Your brother always love grand entries." she smirked.

"The Queen Dowager is here....." the guards at the entrance announced.

Asim and Baketmut stood up, bowing towards the entrance as the queen dowager walked in.

"What is this I am hearing in the palace? The wedding is in three days now?"

"Yes mother, we've sent the message to the chief priest."

"No one cared to let me know? Karim is my grandson."

"You only care about the prostitute son not your other grandsons..." he was cut off by the queen Dowager hard glare.

"I care for my grandchildren. I care for you all but this is what I get."

"Mother, Asim is right, you only love the prostitute son. If we had told you before sending the message then you would have stopped it. I am not going to let that happen this time, I will make sure Karim gets married in three days and no one will stop it, not even you." Baketmut said.

The Queen Dowager looked at the mother and son and shook her head, they are about to make a terrible mistake. The royal priestess told them to get the crown prince and destined queen married in two weeks and now they shifted it up to three days. The Queen feels karma about knocking on the doors of the palace. She turned and left disappointedly. Not even her son listened to her.

Queen Baketmut smiled victoriously and sat down, "Now not even the queen mother can stop my son wedding. This wedding will surely happen as it is my only stepping stone to the top."

....

The royal families along with the nobel men of Egypt, the palace officials, and a large crowd of Egyptians from various society status, were all gathered at the opened battle arena, as the two strongest men in Egypt were having a sword battle, so is the custom of the first day of the month.

The battle was getting more intense as the two men were desperate to win, hitting each other hard with the sword. The two had blood flowing down their bodies but that didn't stop them as they kept coming at each other.

The onlookers found it entertaining rather, as they kept cheering their favorite man. The fight came to an end, when one of them cut off the other neck off earning a cheer from the onlookers.

The battle was declared over and another man, a giant, was introduced. He came out of his cage with his hands and legs bound in chains. Every step he took, caused a vibration beneath the ground.

He stood in the middle of the battlefield and hit his chest like an angry gorilla, looking for the unlucky person he would destroy.

"Our undefeated beast, Urak... This is an open challenge, who has the gut to challenge him?" one of the officials asked in a loud voice. Urak, raised his hands proudly and growled. "The mighty Urak...." the official praised him more.

The onlookers made a deafening sound, that one could think, the walls will collapse. He was their favorite fighter.
