An alliance

Koshari ambled into the desert, away from Egypt, humming to a tune while enjoying the heat of the scorching sun with his hands behind his back. Some part of his hairs covered his left eyes.

Asim, on his camel, looked around for the sight of the prince and breathed out in relief when he saw him from a distance. He hit his camel and rode over to him. Koshari looked at the prince walking towards him and raised a corner of his lips. Just who he was expecting. The second prince.

"I hope you know the grave sin you committed?" the second prince asked. "You tried to kill the crown prince after you married his bride to be."

"Tsk tsk, I am sin itself. The crown prince was spared by me."

"You shouldn't go beyond orders." Asim said.

Koshari face hardened as he looked at the prince in front of him. He hit his face and pushed him to the ground, placing his feet on him.

"Don't forget who you are talking to. In seconds, I will rip off your head from your body and feed it to the dogs."

Asim struggled to pull his leg from his chest but the strength of the fourth prince wasn't something to look down on. He couldn't move his feet even a little. He looked at the man staring at him with dark eyes and hardened jaw and his heart skipped a beat.

For many years, the fourth prince have been rumored to have the spirit of a thousand demons that can't be taken away from him. Some said he is a demon himself. Even when he was a kid, he once overheard the pharaoh, his mother and queen Takhat talking about Koshari being cursed. Because of that, he also believed he truly is a demon.

He was locked in the forbidden hills since he was eight and survived by himself, without the help of anyone. Asim had no doubt that the prince is not ordinary and is the only one fit to help him and his companion in the palace prison.

"Don't forget I was the one who brought you out of the forbidden hills. I am the one who you should bow to as I can to lock you back there. Mind what you say to me."

Koshari hardened face went back to his normal amazed face. He laughed out in his usual sarcastic way. Asim wasn't surprised with the way he laughed cause that is just Koshari, always finding everything funny even though it was really serious.

"How will I mind the way I speak to a rat like you? Well, I am going to spare you because you released me from the castle and you still have to give me what I want." His face hardened again, "I might not spare you the second time."

Asim smirked, "We both have same ambition and are almost alike. Let's form an alliance and destroy this kingdom and make the land ours."

"This kingdom is at my mercy." he said and removed his feet from Asim's chest. "No one can stop me now." he looked at the prince one more time and left.

"Fool. Once you have completed your job, I will end your life. This kingdom belongs to me and my lover only." Asim said amidst his cough.

.......

At the palace......

Queen Baketmut kept breaking things in the throne room, growling in anger. Her dream of becoming a Queen Regnant is now over. Because of Koshari, that demon son of a prostitute.

Her face was reddened and her eyes filled with nothing but anger. Her blood boiled in anger as she kept reminiscing what happened during the wedding and how she was so happy that her dream is finally coming to place when it was someone else in place of the crown prince. She felt like a fool, a big fool for being deceived.

Hearing the commotion at the throne room, the royal family rushed there only to see the raging Baketmut destroying everywhere. Princess Benerib, rushed to her mother and held her from completely ruining the decors in the throne room.

"Mother, get a hold of yourself."

Baketmut turned sharply and faced her daughter. "My dream was shattered, my plan went to the drain. All because of the prostitute and her son. They are the cause of the problems in this palace. Your brother didn't marry his bride. The witch deceived all of us and was helped by the queen mother. We are treated as nothing in this palace even though we deserve our rightful place." she yelled.

"Mother don't say that. We will think of a solution to all this." the princess said calmly.

"No!!! There is no solution to this. They have to pay for it. They all have to pay for it."

"That's enough!!!" the Queen Regnant, Tati said walking into the hall. "That's enough Baketmut. I have had enough." seeing the Queen Regnant, the people present all bowed at her except Baketmut who was staring at her in rage. "We all know what happened shouldn't have happened, but that shouldn't give you the right to accuse everyone and destroy my palace. The needful will be done and anyone involved will be punished for it." she said.

Baketmut said nothing as she only stared in anger. Princess Benerib sighed in relief as her mom said nothing, but she could still feel the rage in her. Everything that happened was wrong, but her grandmother and Queen Takhat shouldn't be blamed for it. Her mother was just angry and when she calm down she will reason with her. Her brother was still unconscious if not, he would have solved this issue himself. The Queen wasn't even worried about him as she haven't gone to see him.

She held her mother's hand and helped her out of the throne room.

Immediately Baketmut left the hall, Takhat fell to the floor crying. Everything that happened was still a shock to her. The Queen dowager bent down and patted her shoulder.

"Baketmut is just so angry now, she will come back to her senses and will realize what she said and how harsh her words were." she said and hugged her.

The Queen Regnant looked at the fallen statues on the floor and sighed. She is out of ideas and way to make it all straight as now, the Egyptians will ridicule the royal family for what happened. The pharaoh was still in rage even though she tried her best to call him down. She have to find a way to settle it all.
