Leaving Egypt

Semat gently rubbed the palms of her daughter who was looking lost. The wedding that happened is what no one will ever wish for. Her daughter just have to face the worst of it all. Why does it have to be with Koshari? Everyone thought he was banished completely fifteen years ago, but the royal family deceived them and made her daughter marry him. The prince rumored to be a demon. Satiah have really suffered a lot.

Satiah on the other hand, had her own worries. Now she is no longer married to the crown prince but a fourth prince. A princely position that won't be considered much. She ended up with a prince who has no inheritance of the throne. How is she going to be the Queen Regnant now and go back to her time? Everything is really messed up. Her life is really messed up. The deities are really up against her. Now, would she be able to change her destiny again?

She clenched her fist and closed her eyes tight. Even in the past, her life is filled with nothing but bad luck. Nothing good will ever come out of her life.

The chief priest stomped in with his hands behind his back. The royal family have gone too far this time, they deceived them and made the fourth demonic prince to get married to their daughter instead. The Pharaoh have hurt him now for the second time. Same thing happened years ago. The Pharaoh cheated him and got married to his lover. He forcefully took her away and married her and now he did the same to his daughter.

Semat stood up and bowed to him, but he ignored her and looked at Satiah instead.

"The Pharaoh has done something unforgiving. I won't forgive him this time. Those cunning beasts tricked me again. How dare they do this to us?" he asked fuming in anger. "Satiah get ready, you are leaving for Babylon in two days."

Hearing that, Satiah widened her eyes and looked at him. If she leave Egypt then how will she go back? Egypt is the same place she is in the future and she is also in Egypt now in the past. Leaving the kingdom will definitely cut the line of going back to the future. Babylon doesn't exist in the future.

She sat up and shook her head, "No I am not leaving, I am not leaving Egypt, this is where my teleportation line is." she protested.

"No Satiah.... You are staying here and that is it." he yelled. "And no objections, my decision is final."

The chief priest said it with all seriousness and she knew she was done for. But this is her life also, it's her decision to make and she is not ready to leave Egypt.

...

The palace....

A lot of things doesn't happen the way people think it will. Things change and that is how life is. Who knew the destined queen chosen by the gods would turn out marrying the fourth prince changing the words of the gods.

Queen Tati massaged the pharaoh's head as she thought of what happened. Or could this be karma? This also happened many years ago. But this time, she will make everything right again.

"If what happened at the wedding gets to the people, we would be looked down on for not knowing the groom wasn't the crown prince."

The pharaoh opened his eyes and looked at her, "Do you have a solution?"

"The people shouldn't find out about it. They should believe the crown prince truly married Satiah. The two should pretend to be married until Koshari and Satiah are separated."

The Pharaoh's mouth curved into a smile. Just like he expected of his wife, Tati is a wise woman and know how to solve difficult issues quickly. Her idea will surely stop the people from finding out. The only people aware of the exchange are the invited guests and they don't associate with the low class people, so wouldn't want to tell them about the marriage.

"Just like always, you always bring out the best solutions. You truly deserve the post of the Queen Regnant." he said touching her cheeks gently. "Guards!!!" he called out loud. The men walked in and bowed. "Send words to my Queens to come to my chambers now."

The men left immediately.

Princess Benerib sat beside her mother who was stamping her feet with a scorn look on her face. She knew her mother was planning something to pay back for what happened and that will be very bad. No one knows where Koshari is now and Karim is still unconscious. Everything just had to happen in a day. A bad day and none of her sibling seems to care.

Queen Baketmut couldn't come up with the best way to pay back Takhat and Koshari for ruining her plans on becoming the Queen Regnant, much to her dismay. She would have known, she would have gotten them married long ago without anyone knowing, not even the Pharaoh.

She suddenly remembered that her son, Asim, haven't being in the palace after the wedding. He was the only one who thinks like her and gives her some ideas of what to do. Right now, she really needs him. Among her children, he is the one she loves more cause of his smart brain and wise thinking.

"The Pharaoh request your presence in his chamber, your highness." the men who the pharaoh had sent, said by the entrance.

Is there something wrong? Benerib wondered. It must have something to do with Koshari. Have they found him yet? There were different questions running through her mind which only got her worried and confused. Her mother stood up and left the chamber without saying a word to her.

Queen Baketmut walked into the Pharaoh's chamber and bowed to him. She looked at Queen Tati beside him and bowed to her. She was very close to replacing her. She was so close to it, but that Koshari. She would have been the one being bowed to and not Tati.

Queen Takhat entered the room and bowed to the Pharaoh and the queens present. Queen Baketmut never expected to see Takhat, the woman don't deserve to stand with them.

"Why is she here? She should be arrested. She is a betrayer, a criminal, her and her son." Queen Baketmut said pointing at Queen Takhat whose head was still bowed.

"That's enough Baketmut, this is a meeting for my Queens." the pharaoh said.

Baketmut kept quiet and bowed to him. She wondered what the meeting was about or was it another way to insult her and make her look like a fool?

The pharaoh stood up and looked at the three of them. The anger in Baketmut face was much so was the guilt in Takhat face. It has always been like that, Takhat is always the guilty one, Baketmut is always the angry one and Tati is always the wise one to think of a solution out of every problem.

He thinks Takhat is too dull and he hates that dull nature of hers so gives her the least attention and sometimes never gives her any attention. She is his last wife but their marriage was because of Koshari.

Baketmut on the other hand, have a selfish desire in her which he choose to ignore. She is good in bed but in terms of decision making and politics, she had nothing to offer.

Tati is the only one who his heart beats for and the most loved among his wives. Even though she had no child for him, he till loves her a lot. Not only is she wise, but she is a good strategist.

"Baketmut, it's time to bring your daughter in-law back to the palace."
