Chapter 25: Kidnapped

Gwen laughed, covering her mouth with her napkin as Elijah told this elaborate story. Matt pretended to laugh as he picked through his food with his fork. Something about SilverWolf didn’t sit right with Matt before, but now he really wasn’t sure about the guy. Elijah had come across as this man who knew a lot of information about art, but the similar way that his mother passed away to Gwen’s was too uncanny. “So, my mother eventually gave up and let my father fix the shed,” Elijah shrugged and took the last bite of his meal.

“My father was a bit stubborn about some things too,” Gwen giggled and shook her head, finishing her drink.

“Anyway, it was really nice meeting you in person.” Elijah smiled as the bill was set onto the table.

“It was fun,” Gwen smiled.

“I had fun,” Matt awkwardly tagged on. The whole time he had felt more like a third wheel than anything else.
