Chapter 27: Bait

Chapter 27: Bait

Gwen struggled against the rope wrapped around her wrists, waist, thighs, and ankles. She tugged and grunted, shimmying her body to try and free herself of the binds. The cloth over her eyes made it impossible to see. She had no idea where she was, neither could she navigate how she had gotten there. Whatever she had been given had worn off recently.

A familiar growl echoed around her, as she felt something stalking her. It was an uneasy feeling that made panic shoot through her from her head to her toes. She trembled and pressed her lips into a thin line, as she heard them circling her.

“I’ve been waiting for you,” Elijah’s voice came out rough as he circled her with interest. “Do you know how hard it was to get you into my claws?” He snarled and let a dark laugh past his cunning smile.

“Please,” Gwen begged, while her breath picked up and made her chest move up and down in rapid movements.
