Everyone filed into the study to hear about the next job. Cleo peered around herself, taking in her family and finding Gwen missing.


“Where is Gwen? I need her specifically for this to lure the guy into paying more,” Cleo watched Logan’s mouth twitch. “Don’t even start with me, you know she’s an amazing asset to the clan,” she pointed the folder at him.


“She’s not ready,” Logan argued with the stern woman.


“Nothing will make her more ready than coming with us on the job, Logan. You d*mn well know that’s true,” Cleo set her brow in a stern expression as she gave him attitude.


He growled low beneath his breath and crossed his arms in displeasure. She glared at him and waited for him to do as she had instructed.


“Go on, get her.” Cleo stood her ground with her lips in a straight line and her eyebrows slightly raised.
