Prologue

"Why do I have to deal with the same questions every time?" Rana Mae laughed sarcastically and everyone noticed. Some of the reporters found her remarks laughable because that's true.

Her manager could not even stop her from being sarcastic. People in the industry already know that her personality is honest and upfront, "But we get the same answers every time."

Rana Mae gave her famous sarcastic laugh again as she flipped her black long hair, "Why do you keep asking me if you won't believe a single word I say?"

She felt her manager pinch her from the side, and that made her pout. "Anyway, I still have work to do. Ciao!" She said happily as she picked up her bag and left the reporters behind.

Her manager's phone kept ringing.

With a frown, she looks at the laughing woman beside her. She couldn't distinguish what infuriated her anymore.

Is it the agency calling or the woman who's comfortably walking beside her?

She really couldn't do anything about Rana's personality. Maybe, she was born to be her Manager's headache. Because at all angles she's a walking migraine.

Her agency knew that honesty in this cruel and messy industry became her charm.

She's the only actress who's not careful with her image.

I mean, she was once named the University Bitch even with high remarks.

"Manager Nim, let those reporters be. It's not like I care whether I land on a project or not." She's forgetting about the fact that she has staff to feed, and those mouths also need to earn.

Nimfa brushed her hair wildly as she kept looking back at the reporters eagerly talking about them, "Have some consideration, Rana Mae." She has! This is why instead of igniting the flame, she walked out politely saying her thanks.

She removed her sunglasses and looked at her smiling, "Walking out in that situation is the best decision, Manager Nim. You should know that."

Of course, that was an ambush interview, and she said her goodbyes before walking out. She still knows basic decency that some reporters do not have.

They probably didn't have enough hot scoop, and that's why they are invading her privacy again.

Well, it's not new to her. It's always her who gets the ugliest and meanest interview, and as time passed she got used to the ugly treatment she's been getting.

It's like some actors and actresses are using her as an escape plan.

They only have to be in contact with her. That's cruel and unfair.

"But, do you have to walk like that?" She bursts out laughing getting everyone's attention. She looked back and winked at them.

If not, what's more effective? She did not give them the scoop that they always wanted. "Rudy, your daughter is giving me a migraine!" Instead of getting annoyed, Rana laughed it off. It's not like her Father has something to do with her career. "When will you think of this as a serious matter?"

She simply shrugs her shoulder and answers, that it's not like there are specific dates or schedules when she should care. "Manager Nim, Ms. Rana has her photo shoot for the shampoo commercial tomorrow at eight in the morning."

Rana, nodded her head, listening to her assistant. "Are you good in the morning, Rana?" She smiled in answer. The good thing is that she's a morning person. She's efficient at work and she never comes in late.

The producer and crew can tolerate her by not talking with her since she always comes early. "That shampoo is the Aloe Vera one, right?" Her assistant nodded in the answer as she continued browsing her phone for some comments about her. "Do you use that brand?"

Her manager and assistant look at her strangely. She pulled her phone to do some research on her own, "I am not familiar with that brand, Rans. Why do you ask?"

"That's the point," she flipped her hair and that smile seemed like a piece of bad news for Nimfa.

Without hesitation, she asked for the iPad from her assistant, Jazmine, "What are you up to?" She saw that Rana was researching about the product. "You being a chemical engineer is kicking in huh."

"Manager Nimfa-" she had to cut her off, she was not used to hearing her whole name. It sounds better when it is not coming from Rana Mae. She is only teasing her to get on her nerves.

Her Manager glared at her, "Nim!" she said with a full warning tone. Rana Mae likes teasing her Manager like it's been part of her daily routine.

"It's the same person!" She said teasing her more. "I like the smell of that shampoo." She loves Aloe Vera, that's it. "Although, that chemical shouldn't be added hastily." She did not mention what is she talking about making the two women with her guess what she was talking about.

That's the beauty of her endorsing a product.

Rana Mae doesn't endorse without personally using the products. She's keen on details.

Just like her Manager said, Rana Mae is a graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering.

People are still curious why she didn't pursue her degree.

She doesn't have any dreams at all. She knows that by heart and mind, and she's not denying it to anyone.

But she couldn't deny the fact that she loved the smell of different chemicals.

Her goal right now is to be happy and as free as a bird, and her Father is letting her do what she wants. It's not like she has another choice.

Rana Mae scrolls through social media. People are still talking about her, and her new dating rumor with a person she never met.

Every time she sees edited pictures, she could not help but laugh. This is not something new to her, but some actors like using her just because she rarely talks about her personal life.

The community is all over the place trying to slut shame her.

Someone who would date a slut like her will be instantly famous because people knew her for being the kind of woman who only dates men as she likes.

Her phone rang and when she answered it, her best friend from the other line kept screaming, "Rana, guess what?" she said excitedly.

Rana could not help but laugh, "I wish you knew that you are on high pitch note again, Shavy." The woman from the other line laughs along with her. "What is it?"

She's asking but she already knows what it is about, another acting news for both of them. "We got in!" She knows her from the head to toe, you see. With every reaction and emotion, she releases. "I still don't know who the other casts are but I heard Eljin also got the role."

Oh, Jin.

There was a long silence on Rana's side, but she smeared when her manager caught her attention, "That's good news." Is it? "I'll talk to you when I get back, Shavy."

Manager Nim showed her an e-mail from the iPad, and she smiled. "That's not something you should smile about, Rana." She just shrugged her shoulders laughing at the woman now frowning at her reaction.

"Manager Nim, do I smell bad news?" Jazmine, her assistant said laughing.

"What?" Rana Mae looked at them as her eyes narrowed, which made the ladies laugh at her reaction. "That's the only dating news they got right."

Jazmine whistles to tease her, "The only heartbreak you got."

These ladies have the guts to tease her because they know that Rana Mae, has moved on. Wait, does she? "Why do I taste bitterness in my mouth?" her manager even acted like she was tasting something awful in her mouth.

She returned her gaze to the screen of the iPad and continued scrolling through social media, "Maybe you ate something that isn't good for your stomach." She's smiling but no longer wants to continue the conversation.

The two women must have understood her reaction, and with that, they smiled watching Rana Mae.

She's not just an actress with a sharp tongue, people working closer to her know that, and those who work with her.

But, Rana Mae is a spoiled brat. I mean, who wouldn't? She came from a well-off family of businessmen and the fact that she is the youngest among five children.

Don't forget about the fact that among them, she's the only woman.

Imagine, how does an only woman live with four men? She's their princess, and all of her brothers are now working. Why does she need to work, right?

I mean, if I were Rana Mae, I will live like a Princess as well.
