The scent

Lowell

The car stops after driving for hours. We are surrounded by trees and light fog. We are basically in the middle of nowhere and I have a bad feeling about this.

A lot is riding on this and I made a promise to Colin. I have to do this and come back for him.

He is all that matters to me and just being here is a risk that I have taken that has separated me from him.

"We're here," Brandon echoes into the night. We have been driving all day and this has to be worth it.

I get down from the car and immediately feel the crunch of leaves below my feet. The woods are eerily quiet and I have a strange feeling that I am being watched. I am not scared; my wolf is very present and all I feel is determination. I have to carry the confidence of my strength into this. If they smell my fear, I am done for.
