Hunting Game

"Thank you for your help, it saved me," Asher said to Miles who was lying on the bed.

"I did what a friend would do, besides you now got the looks of a real vamp. Take a look at your complexion and eyes, here take this mirror and see for yourself," Miles brought out a mirror from the drawer next to his bed and handed it to Asher who collected it and began to look at himself.

They were done with the process but it rendered Miles weak because of the too much blood that left him while it made Asher look entirely new and fresh. His skin got whiter and smoother than before and his glowing eyes had turned to normal only that the iris remained a tint of red mixed with black.

"I really changed, and I've become more charming than before," Asher mumbled to himself with a hint of happiness in his voice.

"Yes, of course, you look more delicate now, all thanks to my perfect blood," Miles boasted earning a chuckle from his friend.

"Feeling high right? it's only a matter of time before I'll have all girls to me, be it humans, vampires or even werewolves then I won't bother to request for your blood," Asher replied with a grin on his face.

Miles' face darkened upon hearing what Asher said, his wolf growled in his head, it wanted so much to pounce on Asher but there was nothing to both could do. 'Easy! We would only scare him away, let's be patient with him' Miles said to his wolf, it growled a little before calming down.

"Are you threatening me with that?" Miles asked.

"No, it's not a threat but a promise, hahaha....."

"You dare not," Miles said and looked away.

"It's really funny how you make your angry face but that's by the way, how do you hunt? I want to taste my powers," Asher said.

Since he has become a vampire, he needed to know his powers and also get acquainted with them, that is the main priority for him and he can only achieve that by going on a hunt.

"I'll take you to our hunting ground, where you can hunt for beasts and creatures of your choice but I must warn you..there are always troubles lurking around the whole place so you must be careful, extremely careful not to approach them. Try stay on your own and mind your business, or else..."

"Don't worry I'll be fine, isn't it some hunting games? I'll be sure to win and I won't fight for any irrelevant matter, trust me," Asher said with every assurance and left for the bathroom.

"With the way you are taking things calmly, I don't think I can live any longer by your side," Miles mumbled to himself and sighed.

****

"Asher, this is the hunting ground. As you can see, thick trees are covering the whole place making it a bit difficult for a normal person to see but I guess the case will be different for you because you are no human. Wild and large beasts reside here so all we have to do is be patient and wait, soon they'll come out of their hideouts to also hunt for food."

As Miles explained, Asher took his time and began to scan the whole area with his glowing eyes, he could also hear the movements of things around the place so being cornered by any beasts or creatures were out of the topic for him as well as Miles. He continued to scan the area with his eyes and listen to sounds with his perked up ears until he heard some movements within the surrounding.

"Miles do you hear anything?" Asher asked his friend just to be sure he was not making a mistake.

"Yeah, it seems to be running towards us on high speed...watch out!" Before Miles could continue his statement a six-legged creature came running towards them.

Miles and Asher separated immediately causing the creature to run in between them. The creature not meeting his target stopped abruptly and turned around, stomping his four legs on the ground he prepared for his next attack.

"What the hell is that thing?" Miles asked with his eyes locked on the creature's movements.

"It's a six-legged buffalo, a very aggressive and proud creature, be careful of its sixth legs...they can be longer than their usual length," Miles replied cautiously.

Just as Miles was explaining to Asher, the six-legged buffalo let out a roar and came running towards them, just as it was running the sixth legs began to grow longer than the other ones.

"Be careful!" Miles warned and sprinted to the other side dodging the incoming attack on him. The buffalo roared angrily again and turned his attention to Asher whose eyes turned red.

"Since you want to play, I'll gladly join you!" Asher said with a smirk on his lips. He stood and watched the buffalo running towards him with his sixth legs elongating, he prepared himself and waited for the legs to get to him.

"Time to play!" Still, with that smirk on his lips Asher said out loud and immediately grabbed the buffalo's sixth legs, he raised it in the air and began to swirl around after which he flung the creature to a tree.

*Bam*

Not allowing it to recover, Asher ran to the creature with Miles following behind and picked it up again, he swung it to another tree again causing a loud bang to be heard. Seeing that it was already weak, Asher walked to the creature and snapped its head with his bare hands causing blood to splatter all over him.

"I guess we are done with it, you'll carry it and we'll keep somewhere until we are done hunting for today," Asher said and Miles nodded and walked to the dead creature.

"And what do you kids think you are doing?"

Miles stopped mid-way from carrying the dead creature and turned to the owner of the voice same with Asher who turned as well.

"And who are you?" Asher asked as he glared at the four unwanted visitors.

"They are vampires like you but unlike you, they are original vampires, they were not turned to vampires the way you were turned and so they are much stronger than you," Miles whispered to Asher who after hearing what he said furrowed his brows.

"Okay, so what do you men want?" Asher asked rather. Putting pride aside, for now, was the best option for them both as Miles had said the men were stronger than them.

"We want the creature..." the leader said pointing at the dead six-legged buffalo.

"But we killed it!" Asher could not help but raise his voice.

"But we set our eyes on it first, it happened that it ran away from us and ran into you both," another man said.

"I'm sorry but I can't let you men have it," Asher replied as his eyes began to glow.
