Tricking

Chapter 31: Tricking

Meanwhile, Watson also paused in surprise and spoke in a confused tone.

"It seems you aren't even surprised by my strength. Who the hell are you?"

His voice contained a trace of curiosity.

Instead of responding to Watson's question, Abium smiled mysteriously and slashed his sword to relieve the numb feeling.

Only a slight wound appeared on his left shoulder and nothing more.

Both stared at each other for two seconds without making any movements and observed vigilantly.

There was sudden quietness surrounding the area.

Slowly, Helena took a few steps backward and stood behind a tree with a solemn expression on her face.

At that moment, she was deeply impressed by this half elf's sword skills and looked at him in admiration and shock.

She quickly returned to her calm self and asked.

"Do you have any plan on how to escape from this situation? Mister-?"

She suddenly realized that she knew nothing about this Half-elf and felt awkward.

"I'm Abium. And Yes, I do have a plan."

Abium waved his hand while responding and raised his sword.

'Watson's body is completely covered in fire-elemental aura now. Even if I attack him using Intermediate Sword Aura, I can only give him some shallow wounds.'

'Should I try something new? Maybe my unique [Aura Slash] sword skill?'

He then took a step forward and rushed to attack Watson but stopped in a mid-way.

At that moment, he saw a dense fire-elemental energy gathering around Watson's body and furrowed.

'He is finally decided to use the 'Elemental Burst' skill?' Abium's eyes flickered in the dark.

At that moment, dense fire-elemental energies gathered around Watson's body and illuminated the surrounding trees in a reddish light. Yellow fire sparks appeared around Watson's body, and he stood there like a Fire Lord.

Even the heat emitting from his body made Abium and Helena take a little step back.

"Stay away as far as possible from that fire." Abium said in a calm tone, stored his sword into his space ring, and took out the remaining three 'Amber Stones.'

"Do you think those explosives would work on me now?" A cold smile appeared on Watson's face.

Meanwhile, Abium calmly took a few more steps backward and tossed those three 'Amber Stones.'

A second later, three big explosions echoed in the forest and created a firewall, blocking Watson's vision from seeing what Abium was doing!

On the other hand, Watson let out a deep roar and shouted.

"Explode!"

The fire-elemental energy around his body formed into a red-scarlet fire as he roared, spread towards the surrounding areas, and even tried to devour the firewall that blocked his sight.

The fire flashed into existence in a wash of red and yellow sparks.

It had a dangerous beauty.

The fire held its head up regally and proudly as its destruction spread while glowering at the surroundings daring them to challenge its incredible power.

"Help! Please help me! help..."

As the raging fire spread to the surrounding areas, the black-haired warrior behind Watson let out a panicking scream.

Like a mouse caught in the lions' fight, he screamed continuously, but Watson snorted coldly and locked his gaze on the place where the firewall was still resisting his elemental fire.

Meanwhile, Helena watched the fire with wide, gaped eyes and felt fear.

It burned in a sea of red, scarlet, and orange, and that warrior's cry woke all the living animals from their sleep.

Before long, the warrior's scream lessened and soon disappeared like it never existed before.

At that moment, Watson suddenly frowned and soon noticed a human's shadow on the other side of the firewall.

The next instant, he raised his hand and gathered all the surrounding red fires around his fist.

A spherical ball of reddish fire with flashes of fire arcs appeared in his hand.

He took a deep breath, leaped towards the firewall, and threw a punch at the human shadow with full power.

BOOM!

There was an enormous explosion.

It was as though a fist of reddish scarlet flame had decided to punch its way out. Smoke and fire rushed in all directions.

A massive fire spread in the area where the human shadow stood before and burned the figure completely.

After a few seconds, Helena saw that the area around 3 to 4 meters in width was utterly devastated and frozen in shock.

Thud!

Meanwhile, Watson's mouth curved up a little when he saw a charred body fallen on the ground.

Snort!

"This is the punishment for underestimating me, half-elf."

He muttered coldly and shifted his eyes to Helena, now looking at him with a stiffened face.

She couldn't understand what had happened before and got panicked.

"Tsk, Bilet told me to capture the half-elf at all cost, but it can't be helped." Watson clicked his tongue in annoyance, dismissed the fire-elemental aura from his body, and shifted his gaze towards Helena.

Then, Watson took a step forward, walked towards Helena, and spoke.

"If you take an oath in the name of Goddess Quvera and promise to work for Lord Viscount for the rest of your life, I'll spare your life. If you also decide to satisfy Lord's needs, you might still have a chance to find your sister."

Helena silently knelt on the ground as she heard those words and racked her brains about getting out of this situation.

Streaming tears cleansed her red cheeks. Few droplets remained, forgetting their way as the path was swept from beneath them, consequently blurring Helena's vision with waves of sadness only the broken encounter.

'Damn! I finally got a clue about my sister, but he died just like that!' She cursed herself for being too weak.

The salty release calmly flowed into her mouth so that she could taste her sorrow. It was more than crying; it was the kind of desolate sobbing that comes from a person drained of all hope.

Helena's azure eyes suddenly went towards the charred body and noticed something odd about the situation. Soon, her eyes darted around and scanned everything in the dim firelight.

'Hm? Why are there only five dead bodies on the battlefield?'

She found only five bodies remained on the battlefield instead of six!

'Don't tell me!' Suddenly, she saw a black shadow hiding behind the tall tree and widened her eyes. Before Watson could notice her facial expression, she lowered her head and hid away those expressions.

At that moment, Helena thought that Abium might still be alive and decided to gamble everything on him.

The next instant, she slowly stood up, took a battle stance while raising her short sword, and gripped the hilt tighter.

Then, she pointed the sword tip at Watson and lunged at Watson.

Meanwhile, Watson smirked and was about to slash his long sword at Helena to finish her off but froze.

At that moment, he felt an immense danger coming from his back and got shocked.

He used his fire-elemental energy to cover his body and defend himself without hesitation.

But to his horror, he discovered that a new unique type of sword energy entered his body and paralyzed him!

'Why?' His body tried to move, but it was no use. He was perplexed by the sudden attack.

At that moment, a long blade envelope in a yellow sword aura came from behind, tore through the air while creating a rippling sound, and moved towards Watson's heart area at an unimaginable speed!

Watson suddenly found himself in a pinch and went pale.

If he didn't move an inch and evade the sneaky attack, he knew that attack would cost his very life!

'Who is this sneaky rat?!'

Widening his eyes in horror, he took a reckless decision.

He sent all his fire-elemental energy towards his left leg, formed a small ball of fire under his feet, and created an explosion.

Boom! Whoosh!

His last gamble worked as that explosion pushed him up a little.

Abium also got startled when he noticed that Watson crazily used to attack own his leg to avoid the fatal strike and turned solemn.

Still, Abium's attack was in no vain, though.

Even though Watson's body was thrust upward due to the explosion, Abium's sword managed to pierce Watson's back and appeared in front of his abdomen.

A few minutes ago,

When Watson stuck his hand with a fire attack on Abium's body, he had long left that area.

The one who stood behind the firewall was the unconscious blonde-haired warrior blown away by his 'Amber Stone' explosion earlier.

After throwing the three Amber Stones at Watson, Abium took out his water pouch and splashed the water on the unconscious blonde-haired warrior.

Then, he quietly ran away from there and hid behind a tree like a shadow.

Meanwhile, the blonde-haired warrior woke up from the unconscious state and tried to run away from the devouring firewall.

But Watson's next explosive attack didn't give any chance at all.

Meanwhile, Abium hid behind a tree trunk and patiently waited for a perfect opportunity to sneak attack.

When Helena noticed something was odd about the battlefield, she took a gamble and created an opportunity for him.

On the other hand, Abium stealthily arrived behind Watson and used an 'Aura slash' skill at Watson's heart.

Aura slash was an advanced sword technique skill that would create a strong paralyzed effect on the enemy while giving massive damage.

Although Abium didn't have enough mana to use an advanced sword aura, he created a similar skill using his intermediate aura for a single second.

He also didn't know how much it would be effective against the 4th tier warrior, but he believed that it could be used for some distraction.

When the sword aura entered Watson's body, he noticed Watson's body went utterly paralyzed.

So, Abium thought of using the remaining mana to precisely attack his heart and kill him.

He knew that this would be a perfect opportunity to change the kingdom's future.

But Watson made a reckless decision and evaded the sword from piercing his heart.
