Chapter 24: Moon and Stars

The smell of burning flesh is never a good smell, especially if it's goblins. They tend to give off a more scathing pungent smell that just lingers in your nostrils as if they were embedded in your nose hairs.

Vear, one of the young squires, was hurling up his lunch beside a tree. Emerik patted Vear's back, trying to hold down his own stomach contents.

"Do you remember your first time?" Sir Nigelle chuckled beside me.

"Oh, I remember. I was hurling just like them."

"Eh, everybody does. It's a smell that you'll eventually get used to." He walked over and mounted his horse. "Come on you two."

"Y-yes Sir Nigelle." Vear gasped, his face turned pale again and emptied his stomach contents before mounting his horse.

Sir Aeron led the Knights at a nice and slow pace. Vear was having a hard time staying on his horse, so we took frequent breaks.
