Chapter 31: Just a Little Further

I lie in bed, contemplating on leaving in the morning. So much agony ran through my mind and I had a hard time deciding what to do.

I sit up in bed. I can't wait till morning. I already know, if I wait till then, I will come up with another excuse to stay.

With a heavy heart, I packed up my things and threw on my cloak. I walked through the castle halls, taking one last look at everything.

I found myself standing in front of Sir Aeron's study, and stared at the door handle for a long time before I reached for it. I peered around the dark room, but I didn't see him anywhere in sight.

'Maybe he actually went home to sleep today.'

I walked around the room and engraved everything into my memory. The intricate designs of the fireplace, to the bookshelf and his desk made out of oak wood. I sat behind it and pulled out a piece of parchment.

As I scribbled down my parting words, tears rolled down my cheeks and dropped onto the parchment.
