Chapter 88: Faster

Bodies of goblins and hobgoblins were piled up on the wet stone staircase. We had to climb over some of the monsters and push some aside in order to get through.

Carefully searching from room to room most of them were either empty or filled with dead bodies of both monsters and human bones. With the looks of the clothes it seemed it was the workers and maids in the castle.

The hallways were blood stained with rubble scattered through the place. The tapestries and rugs were all tattered and frayed. Even some of the walls were breaking apart and chunks were on the floor.

The place looked so worn down like no one had been here in a very long time. We quickly pressed ourselves against the wall when we heard rushing footsteps from the adjacent hall. Readying my weapon, I swung it through the air and was blocked by another sword.
