Chapter 2

Rem trembled on ground from fear as she couldn't see any hope anymore, when suddenly a loud raspy voice called her from behind.

"Damn! Hey! Are you okay?!" A giant man with huge muscular body, spiky black hairs wearing a white tank top and bakuran approaches her.

Rem flinches abruptly upon seeing his strong presence and crawls back from fear. His appearance was scary, but the state of anxiety Rem was in, made it even worse.

The man halted upon seeing her reaction and his face drooped low with hands froze in mid air.

"Pfft! You should keep your monster face away, geez! She's even more scared now, thanks to you!" A short blonde girl commented behind the crowd while snickering when suddenly a deep heavy voice stopped her. He marched forward and took out two hamsters from his coat to present them in front of her.

The girl was gonna shout back at him, but someone from the crowd shushed her immediately.

Rem snapped out of her daze as she sees two cute little hamsters performing tricks in front of her. Even though they weren't as perfect because of their fat belly, their funny act of failed attempts made Rem let out a small chuckle and she wiped small tears off her eyes. She lifted her gaze and pats one of them gently to calm down herself.

At first the hamsters hesitated upon seeing her approaching hand but later cooperated under their master's signals. Rem smiled upon feeling two small fluffy balls rubbing against her hands until the man opened his mouth

"You feeling better now?"

Rem flinched again upon hearing a sudden voice from her side. She turned her head and notice a strange man was looking at her with dark sullen eyes. He had a lightening scar on his face and had pitch black hair with highlights of grey, slid back into a wave. A thick long purple shawl wrapped around his neck and was wearing a long black coat with one of his arms covered in bandages.

Rem remembered his name as 'Gundham Tanaka, the ultimate breeder' because of his striking appearance and pulls her hands off hamsters heads.

"Yes. I am fine now. Sorry for troubling you all so much." She said while turning towards the crowd behind her and sits in seiza position.

"Ha! You better apo-" the short blondie speaks again but gets mouth pressed from someone behind her this time.

The crowd sighed and shared a cold glare at the girl, as she was being too insensitive even in this situation.

Rem smiled awkwardly as she knew who that mischievous ill-mannered girl was. She was the ultimate classical dancer of this world, Hiyoko Saionji. She was infamous for her bullying personality and bad mouth.

"I am really sorry sir for my rude behaviour a second ago. It wasn't nice of me acting rashly to your kind actions." Rem bowed down gracefully as she apologized to the muscular guy wearing a heavy chain around his neck.

The guy was actually the ultimate team manager, Nekomaru Nidai, who had a warm personality and was very good at encouraging his peers.

"Uh no! It's really okay! I do look scary sometimes, I should've been more carefull." the man apologized too with a formal bow. For a brief moment, an awkward silence fills the place as it seemed way too formal for normal highschool apologizing to each other, when suddenly a loud voice breaks in between.

"Hey c'mon! Are we gonna stay here forever?! Let's continue this conversation after we have our breakfast, I am dying hungry now!" A tall young woman with an athletic build, tan skinned, and chestnut haired approached the man. She was wearing a short sleeved button up shirt with the top buttons undone, revealing her large chest size, and a red miniskirt at bottom.

Her fiery personality made Rem recognise her as Akane Owari, the ultimate gymnast aka the future disciple of Nekomaru.

Rem nods in surprise and they all went to their respective table seats and began gossiping about her. Rem felt uncomfortable as she could hear their constant whispering while sitting in the corner when suddenly a short fluffy man walked near her and placed a mouth-watering plate of sizzling American breakfast in front of her.

"Here you go young lady." He said with a sharp smirk.

His repeating habit of combing left sided long pompadour and white classical chef outfit with red scarf tied around his neck made Rem remember his identity. He was Teruteru Hanamura, the ultimate chef of this world, but he was often disliked by players because of his extreme lewd nature.

"Th..Thank you." Rem replied while maintaining her distance and smiled nervously. She averted her gaze to the delicious food kept in front of her instead and ignored his presence. She cuts a slice steak and tastes it hesitantly, wondering how would the delicacy taste in virtual world.

But to her surprise, the rich taste of meat blended perfectly with her saliva as it's soft texture touched her tongue. It was so chewy and juicy that Rem couldn't help but shut her eyes indulging the savoury with a broad smile.

"Did you liked it that much?" An anonymous voice approached her from front.

Rem startled upon seeing a red haired girl with freckles sitting right in front of her.

She gulped the large chunk of meat to speak properly, and finally managed to say "Uh, yes! It's actually really good! I have never tasted something as good as this before."

The girl looked at Rem wide eyed as Teruteru brushed his hair once more with a smirk.

"It's a pleasure to know that you liked my food. I am touched by your remarks. Would you like to taste something even more delicious? It's much more juicy than this meat." His nose flared as he looked at Rem with hidden intentions but she averted her gaze towards the girl to change the topic.

"No thanks. Umm, do you like photography?" She asked while pointing out a camera hung around her neck, despite knowing who she was.

The girl chuckled upon seeing the stupefied look on Teruteru's face and said "Yes. Allow me to introduce myself. I am Mahiru Koizumi, you can call me Mahiru if you want. I am the ultimate photographer of this world...it was a nice cut by the way" she whispered in end.

Rem chuckled too upon seeing her reaction and introduces herself. "Ah, my name's Rem, Rem Watanabe."

Teruteru jumps into their conversation and introduces himself too, making others also approach towards them. Rem felt happy upon getting to meet such famous game characters with her own eyes, despite knowing all of this wasn't real. She realised that many people including the main protagonist still wasn't present yet.

Their conversation grew deeper as Akane and Hiyoko jumped in. They asked her multiple questions as they didn't remember her present in their so-called memory at all! Rem couldn't think of any reason and answered carelessly as she also didn't knew how she end up here. She made a story of having an amnesia and claimed she couldn't remember her talent at all.

Everyone was quite surprised and suspicious of her at first, but considering the fact she was found in a swimming pool floating on it's surface and the terrified look on her face while she trembled on ground as their first impression, made them believe her in the end.

They enjoyed their breakfast as everyone get to know more about each other when suddenly a bunch of people walked into the cafeteria. They were shocked upon seeing Rem, and asked other students about it.

One of them included the main protagonist of this game Hajime Hinata, accompanied by his psychotic partner Nagito Komaeda and a virtual character just like Rem named Chiaki Nanami, who was used to be ultimate gamer when she was alive in other dimension. Although that's still a secret to everyone.
