The atmosphere in the living room became extremely heavy, quickly. Paul was controlling his urge to go after Michael, who was a cheeky one, in his opinion.

However, in addition to Michael's status being far superior to his, this was the guy's home. It would be doubly disrespectful to break his pretty face with punches.

"That we shall see, Mr. Crawford." Paul said, defiantly.

"Yes, we will see." Michael replied and the two stared at each other.

Roger cleared his throat.

"At the end of the day, boys, it's Louisa's decision." He said, looking at his son and Paul. "I don't think that's the reason for your visit, is it, lad?"

"No! I came just to see Louisa before returning to Oxford." Paul replied politely to the older man who spoke to him.
