Wolfram's Decision

For a moment, the entire room was filled with an uneasy wave of tension

The old man's words had quickly reminded them of tonight's fiasco.

Wolfram looked at the old man carefully.

Old man Yager, one of his uncle's firm supporters.

'Is he asking to find out if I discovered those fleeing henchmen sneaking about my hut?'

Heh!

Wolfram inwardly sneered while still pulling off his best performance yet.

"It… It all happened too fast. The moment I woke up, I was suddenly attacked by a man in black. And the next thing I knew, I was fighting for my life. Luckily, the stampede footsteps of you all were enough to drive him away." Cough, Cough~

That serious?

Everyone stared at Wolfram in pity.

A while ago, someone came after his life. And just after waking up, he was once more the target of assassination.

Though they pitied him, they also subconsciously made a mental note to stay away from him, lest they get pulled in and accidentally get killed off too

'The boy doesn't look like he's lying.' Old Yager thought, running his hands through his beard

"Alright, everyone. Wolf boy said the attacker had skills far surpassing ordinary hunters and fighters. So the attacker should not be from our village."

Not from here?

"That's great! It's great that the attacker isn't from our village!"

"Yes! No one would feel comfortable sleeping tonight with such a person on the loose, living amongst us. Thankfully, It's an outsider!"

….

With things settled, they all left the scene one after the other, wishing Wolfram a safe recovery.

But it was clear from their flimsy expressions that tonight's matter had made them take a firm decision at heart.

Beneath Trash!

Many realized how weak Wolfram was for him to get attacked over and over again in such a manner.

Was he a woman or a man?!

Timber Balls! Even the women in their village weren't so useless!

It may be heartless for them to think so, but for their future, they secretly decided against him as the next Village leader.

These were desperate times, and their Clovis village needed a sturdy and robust leader to lead them onwards.

Village wars were no joke.

At least 3 to 4 times a year, they would get attacked by other nearby villagers that wanted to steal resources and wealth.

One shouldnt also forget the beast tide times that made them defend their village with all their might.

Luckily, the beast tide only drove mortal beasts out of the perimeters of the dangerous forest zones.

So the animals they fought weren't the same type the paladins and all the other mighty people did.

All in all, they dared not take a weak village chief if they wanted to survive in this dangerous world.

At first, they thought he was trash… especially since he was a gatherer and not even qualified to be a hunter or fighter at his age.

But after this, he was even beneath that level in their minds.

In that case, wouldn't it be better for Torr Lockhart to become their next Village Chief?

"Wolf boy, have a good rest."

"Farewell, Wolf boy…."

Like so, everyone cleared the scene, leaving just Ivo and Wolfram in the room.

"Ivo, thank you," Wolfram said awkwardly, allowing Ivo to wipe his sweaty body.

What could he do? He had no more strength after exhausting it all with his previous schemes.

'Mommy…Having a man clean me up in full nude is so embarrassing. Fortunately, I didn't transmigrate to one of those characters with a maid by my side. Ugh~… Why do my armpits stink so much?'

Ivo didn't know his embarrassing thoughts, diligently doing his best to care for Wolfram.

He treated Wolfram's body as though it was some precious gem.

(-_-)

Sigh…

Wolfram closed his eyes, trying not to overthink whatever Ivo was doing.

As a modern straight man who didn't even feel comfortable when another man touched his elbow, he could only say that this was the most uncomfortable moment of his life!

The system looked at its host very mischievously.

[Host, I have to admit that though your methods were shameful, they did entertain me for a while. So how about I give you a suggestion?]

'You?' Wolfram's voice was laced with doubt.

Just what was this lunatic system up to this time?

Honestly, Wolfram didn't believe his system would be so kind.

But What if he was wrong?

Could it be that his system suddenly had a change of heart?

'Fine! Say it. What is this genius plan of yours?'

[Good host! My plan is simple: Now, the host is at his weakest, and everyone in the village knows this. Word does travel fast. So since the enemy's guard is down, how about you attack tonight? Come on, host. Just play the weakling card, request an audience with him, and hack him to death!]

'... And how do I secure my escape or exit after pulling such a stunt?'

[None of my business, host.]

(>-_-)

Wolfram rolled his eyes heavenwards.

As expected, this system was trying to murder him!

Fight to be village chief of Cletus village?

The task was more difficult, seeing the expressions of many who left tonight.

Forget it.

'There can only be one King in this jungle. The system's conditions are clear. Either I take over the village or create my settlement. But as things stand now, I only have one choice… To move out!'

...

Thus, the young Wolfram had set his heart in motion, making plans for the future.

However, he was not the only one.

In a particularly grand Home, several men were gathered in a dimly lit room, listening to the reports from tonight.

And the more they listened, the broader the expressions on their faces.

The assassin attack was not their plan. But in the end, it looks like things worked way better than they expected.

Suddenly, one of them stared at the beastly dark-haired giant, seated at the tallest and most distinguished seat in the room.

The giant was huge, emitting a chilly aura that showed his position.

"Father, we can use this to our advantage." Said another who looked like a younger version of the man.

"Oh?"

The giant raised the corners of his lips very slightly.

This was his proud son… His only son amongst the herd of 3 daughters

The boy had been sharp since birth, much like him.

Calmly looking at his son's dimly lit silhouette, he tapped his armrest thoughtfully.

Use this situation to his advantage?

Interesting.

"Tell me, boy… Just how do we do that?"
