Unexpected Meeting

The words were the same ones Mate uttered when he saved me those years ago. It's as if the words are trying to make a second appearance tonight.

Tightly closing my eyes, I dare not open my eyes to see them beat a man that was obviously trying to save me.

"Go get him!" The man commands on of his men ( I don't need to have my eyes open to know what actually happened. )

I hear the sounds of bones being broken. And someone groaning in pain.

Figures, my saviour is already dead. He should have thought more on what he was about to do before he decided on saving me. He should have weighed things out, thought on the pros and cons before doing things.

"What....."

"If you know you're not ready to follow him also, I advise you leave me bar!" My saviour growls.

His bar?

I groan loudly.

This is just the way the universe wants to get back at me. How can they make it this way?

What will the boss think of me? He might probably think am about to seduce his customers, something that isn't true at all.

"Your bar?" I hear a hint of nervousness in his voice, and just like that, the hands holding me captive let me go. It didn't take long before I hear the sounds of the door being roughly closed.

Still closing my eyes, i curled into a protective ball. My body racking my sobs as I try to cry away my pains, my humiliation and shame.

Who knows what would have happened to me had he not being here on time to save me? How would I have survived what that man planned for me.

"It's okay. They're gone, you don't have to be scared anymore. They won't hurt you ever again." My saviour with the familiar voice says.

" Thanks." I still close my eyes.

His voice might sound caring, but I dare not open my eyes for fear of seeing the judgement in his. He must be probably thinking on how to sack me without sounding harsh.

"Lat?" The male called out to me. His voice sounding surprised. "Lat are you the one?" He asks again.

Hearing that name, I slowly open my eyes already preparing myself for some disappoinment.

Mate can never be here, at least not with me in this situation.

Widely opening my eyes, I widened it more in disbelief when I see who it was that helped me.

"Mate?" I asked.

My heart beating frantically. My cheeks pinking in embarrassment.

Who would have thought the reunion I've ever imagined, will be done this way? With me sitting on the tattered remains of my clothes.

I really wish it's possible for the ground to open up, and swallow me whole. This way, I won't be able to face such an embarrassing moment..

"Lat?" He places his hand on my cheeks. His blue eyes glittering like that of a person about to cry.

Me?

I've unknowingly being shedding tears at the sight of my crush. One I've being hoping to meet for years.

I look down in embarrassment. My eyes taking in my naked body. Am partially naked, but that makes no difference at all.

I can't believe he saw me when I was about to be taken advantage of.

He must probably think am the one who seduced the men.

Following my line of sight, he lowly growls. His eyes turning darker. "I'll kill those men who tried to touch what's not theirs."

Standing to his feet, he removed the jacket his putting on, and helps me put them on my body.

His shirt reaching me mid thigh. Just a little thing, and it'll be considered a gown.

Mate carries me up from the ground, and starts walking out. His hands tightly holding on to me as if he's afraid I'll slip off his fingers.

"You can put your head on my chest if you want." He advises as we started walking back the way I came.

Taking Mate's advise, I put my face on his chest to avoid looking into anyone's eyes. I just really can't endure the feelings of embarrassment am likely to get.

"Boss." Jab calls out to him.

"Get me informations on those men who left."

"What's wrong? What happened to him?" He asks. His voice taking on a concerned tone.

" Mind your own business, or I help you mind it. " Growling, Mate kept on walking.

*

"You can now open your eyes." Mate commands.

Slowly doing like I was asked, I open my eyes. Squinting a bit from the brightness, I get my eyes adjusted to its brightness.

Mate gently sits me on a sofa, and he knelt in front of me.

His office doesn't look like something that belongs to him. The Mate I know will never choose this bright colours for his office.

Mate is a manly man, he doesn't do bright colours. He prefers dark and unattractive colours. With his office painted a very bright yellow colour, it's not difficult to deduce he either doesn't visit here much, or the Mate I knew six years ago isn't the same one at all. People do change after all.

If there's nothing like change, we would have probably still remained in the first age. We wouldn't have progressed at all.

Aside from the sofa am sitting on, a table and a chair, there's nothing else in the room.

Something that shows how seldom he comes to this place.

"Are you hurt?" Mate places his hand on my head.

"No. "

Aside from my humiliation and shame, am not physically hurt. It's mainly an emotional type of hurting.

"You're sure?" He raises a brow at me. His eyes taking me in, until he gets to my eyes. "Why are you eyes black?" He looks alarmed as he asked the question. It's as if he's afraid I've Lost my eyes.

"Those are contacts."

"Why are you putting them on? Is there anything wrong with your eyes?" He asks in concern.
