Strength

Victor became curious about his strength. How not, Ken said the power of repeating time could make him secure his money stolen by the cyber criminal. Victor had imagined that if he had the power to turn back the time, he would drain his money from his account first and create a new account. Victor will ask to create a premium account. Although it does not guarantee its security, Victor believes that premium accounts are more reliable in securing his finances.

"Really! I can secure my money?" both of Victor's eyes seemed to bloom.

Ken became regretful, he silently said, "Is this too fast? Shouldn't I say it?"

Ken walked backwards back to the living room. He did not use force to keep Victor from leaving his house. It's just that Ken didn't expect that money could affect the change in Victor's attitude.

"If you really can, teach me to use it!" Victor chased Ken.

"The problem is not that easy. Moreover, you just found out," Ken said.

"How difficult is it to master one's own strength?"

Ken scratched his head. "That... It depends on how fast you learn."

Victor sat back down, but on the floor. His spirits declined. He rethought what he should do.

"Why did you save me?" asked Victor. He still thinks that Ken also intends to take away his life energy. Although it is hard to believe, based on the facts he has experienced, Victor is forced to accept the situation as it is.

Ken observed Victor.

"I don't know..." Ken moved to grab the teapot. Feeling thirsty. Victor followed Ken's movements with his eyes.

"Maybe it's because we're getting closer. You are also a reliable employee. It may also be because I didn't like the girl just now. Breaking in and unethical in hunting," Ken said as he poured mineral water from the teapot

Victor felt astonished by the last sentence. "Ethics in hunting?"

Ken nodded. "Yes, every Phantom and half-phantom should uphold hunting ethics so that our existence will not be known to humans."

"Does that mean you guys are hiding from humans?"

Ken laughed. "It's not like that. But on the contrary. Imagine if humans knew there were phantom and half-phantom that would take away their life energy. You think they will turn themselves in?"

Victor pondered it.

"Just try to apply it to yourself. How do you feel when you find out that I am also a half-phantom who will prey on your energy?"

"I'm going to run away. Find a safe place to hide, or arm myself to fight you," Victor said.

The tip of Ken's left lip raised slightly.

"That's right. That's why we do it secretly and make our human victims forget about that incident. We didn't kill them, because we still needed them. At maximum we take their energy until they pass out. The next day when they are conscious, they will forget the events when their energy was absorbed. Their energy will recover as they eat and move as usual."

Victor didn't know how to react to the information.

"You guys are like raising crops."

Ken burst into laughter. "Can't you make a better analogy? For example, we like to keep the hen laying eggs every day."

Victor then thought, if Ken takes human energy, shouldn't I not be friends with him?

"That means, humans who were previously victims can also become victims again because they forgot?"

Ken looked at Victor. "Yes. Therefore I did not erase your memory."

"Why did you do that?"

Ken thought of a proper reason, but it seemed that something better would not be revealed. "Because you should be able to survive, right? Moreover, you have great power. I don't want that power to fall into the hands of a demon or half-demon who has bad morals."

Victor laughed.

"What's so funny?" Ken became a little offended. He was well aware none of his words were leading to comedy.

"I didn't expect that phantom and half-phantom would also put morale first. You said hunting ethics just now, now it's moral. It feels weird and funny," Victor said looking at Ken.

Victor realized that he had said something that offended Ken. "I'm sorry, because for me, in my imagination phantom creatures are evil creatures and they know no ethics, let alone morals."

Ken exhaled.

"We are just like humans. Some are evil and some are good. Some of us also cooperate with humans to commit crimes."

"Uh, seriously?"

Victor then thinks that Ken is a good half-phantom.

Ken nodded.

"For example?"

Victor became more curious about his world. Everything seems new.

"I don't want to tell you everything!" Ken flatly rejected Victor's puppy-like gaze.

Victor pleaded in another way. "Didn't you say I should be able to protect myself? I must also know how to avoid those evil creatures!"

Ken was silent.

"Ah. Well. It will be difficult for you to tell them apart if your strength hasn't awakened," Ken began.

Victor watched.

"You must awaken the power and must be able to master it first. Really master it, so you can control it," Ken continued.

Ken was silent for a moment. Victor seemed to have a question, so Ken gave Victor a chance to say it.

"Speaking of strength, how do you know that I can rewind time?"

Ken just realized that he was slipping. Ken finds out that Victor can rewind time because Ken is also in White Castle.

"Why are you so silent? Where did you know?"

Ken felt that it was better to tell the truth.

"That day, I actually visited White Castle to meet you. After getting off work I stopped by and walked into White Castle."

Victor remembers giving Ken the address of White Castle and inviting him to come whenever he wants.

"There was no one at the front door and I went straight up. You once said your room is on the second floor. When I arrived at the second floor, I heard a noise in room number 30. I heard your voice also. When I was about to break the door, something happened. Then, when I realized I was back on the road not far from White Castle. I wonder why that could happen. I can remember a little bit of the incident a few seconds earlier. It lets me know why the fox demon is interested in you."

"You are there? Then are you back?"

"I meant to go back, but there was something more urgent in the mall, so I didn't go back to White Castle, but returned to the mall."

"Something more urgent in the mall?"

"Yes. Candy for VIPs is short of people. Suddenly, Eka asks for a day off work. So I was pulled over to help them that afternoon."

"Eka ask for a day off?" is something strange for Victor, because everyone knows that Eka is a workaholic.

"That's beyond expectation, isn't it? She's a workaholic and craves big bonuses," Ken said as if echoing the voice of Victor's mind.

Victor becomes surprised and thinks that Ken can read his mind.

"Can you read minds?"

"Huh?"

"Just now you said what I had in mind about Eka!"

"It's just a coincidence!" exclaimed Ken, over time he could get irritated for no reason at Victor.

Victor was relieved, but it did not reduce the curiosity to Ken.

"Then, what is your specialty as a half-demon?"

Somehow, Ken felt a random conversation with Victor. Victor's attention jumped up and down.

"You are... so random," Ken snorted.

Victor didn't care, what he wanted was an answer.

"You've seen it. I'm just a fighter, I have a sword as a weapon."

Victor recalled the sword Ken used to kill Ox. Ken stabbed Ox in the heart twice. His movements even look like he is splitting Ox's body in half.

"You were never seen carrying a sword. Where did it come from?"

Ken scratched his head again. "How can I explain this easily?" grumbled Ken.

Victor looked at him like a curious child. "Where did it come from?" asked Victor once again.

Ken had an idea. He stood up and took out his sword. Victor was amazed to see the blood-red sword appear before his eyes.

"Waw! like magic! Can I do it too?" exclaimed Victor until he jumped to his feet.

Victor doesn't hear Ken cast spells or perform special moves like the characters in Naruto anime do to pull out hidden weapons.

"Don't expect!" Ken scolded Victor and put the sword back.

"Huh? Why? Isn't everyone able to do it?"

Ken nodded and sat back down.

"Yes. Not all half-phantom have weapons," Ken sighed.

"Explain in more detail! Why did you stop talking!" Victor became even more annoyed and expressed his annoyance like a child.

"Because each person's power type is different, the form will also be different. Some are armed with whips or crossbows, some are long swords, some do not use weapons at all, but can fight. Your power type is time, so it forms around time such as turning back time, shortening time, or stopping time."

"Cool!" exclaimed Victor. "I want to master it so I can take my money back!"

Ken admires Victor for his ability to think randomly. Ken exhaled shortly.

"You think I won't be able to?" Victor suddenly felt ridiculed.

"I'm not mocking you. I'm just amazed by your random style."

Even so, Victor didn't understand it. Ken was even more astonished.
