Chapter 22: Second Time

Hailey’s POV

“It looks like things between you and Owen are finally taking their course,” says Sabrina, as she looks at me through the mirror. She has put on a tight red dress that is sure to give someone a heart attack, and she speaks to me as she lines her lips with lipstick in the same shade as the dress. Her tone is light, but it doesn't escape from my attention that her analytical eyes don't stray from me.

I sigh, as I run my fingers through my now straight hair, which falls down my back in soft waves, and think about what happened this morning.

“I don't really know. Yesterday we were both really pissed off and we said some things to each other that I think we regretted later. We fought, but the truth is that Owen said a lot of things that are true and that I couldn't stop thinking about.”
