Chapter 34: Premonition

Owen’s POV

The jet lands just as Hailey opens her eyes slightly, blinking in disorientation and frowning for a moment, not knowing where we are. I smile at the sight of her. The trip has taken its time, but we've finally reached our destination. She fell asleep almost an hour ago, and in all this time she hasn't stopped mumbling, scattered between dreams.

“Did you know that you talk when you are asleep?” I ask her amused and she suddenly reddens, while covering her lips with her hands and opening her eyes wide.

“You're lying!” she exclaims and I burst out laughing without being able to help it.

“Sabrina never told you before?” I ask curiously.

“She may have mentioned something at some point... But I always thought she was exaggerating. That she was just saying it to mess with me.”

“Well, it's true,” I affirm smiling and she grabs me by the arm, at the same time she stops me with the shock printed on her face.

“What did I say?” she asks me with her voice tinged with anguish.
