Chapter 35: My Only Luna

Hailey’s POV

The night is full of stars and their brightness is reflected in an incredible way on Owen's face, who remains immersed in silence, contemplating the sky that shines above us. The nights here are not at all like those of California, which are tinged with the saltiness of the waves and the heat of the days that lurks in the sands; rather, there is a calm, yearning silence that outlines the sky the same way it does with the tender waves on the surface of the lake.

The warmth of Owen's body is able, however, to distort the cold and make me feel sheltered. After dinner, I discovered that he had brought a blanket, so we sat on the lakeshore contemplating the night. The conversation soon slowed and in the shelter of his arms I found it easy to lose myself in him, in the slow rhythm of his breathing and the whispers of the wind on our faces.
