OLIVER POV
Rory's mouth fell open as the sound of footsteps grabbed our attention. I looked over into the entryway and noticed Phoenix, Michael, Jeremy, and Lacey were making their way down the stairs. We both watched as they walked into the foyer, and Jeremy walked over to the edge of the living room. Rory turned and looked at me but didn't say anything. She was observing me.
"We're gonna go get food," Jeremy said slowly. "We'll be back."
Lacey waved at Rory shyly, and we both watched in silence as my cousins and cousin-in-law went out the front door. Rory waited for the front door to close to speak first.
"What do you mean you're the white wolf? That doesn't make sense," she demanded.
"I mean, it does make sense. I was born this way, so to me, it makes total sense."
Rory shook her head defiantly. "NO, Oliver, it doesn't make sense. How can you be a wolf? You're a human," she added cocking her head sideways. There was that sarcastic eyebrow again.
