Cori bounded through the door of the police station and launched herself into Ben's arms. A rush of relief had run through her the second he'd called to tell her what had happened. Ben, her hero, had captured the men who'd sucked one of her sons into drug dealing, assaulted her other son, and had tried to kill the man she loved. 


Seeing him now, she verified he hadn't been injured, but she still sobbed. 


"It's okay sweetheart. Everything is fine," He assured as he ran his hand up and down her back. 


A moment later, another set of arms encircled her from around her side. She opened her teary eyes expecting to see Holden, but it was Eli. It'd been breaking her heart how distant he'd been from her lately. It was an awful situation that had brought them back together, but she'd take it, even though she knew they had a lot to work through yet, especially in terms of the consequences of his drug dealing.
