Ryann should have gotten a job years ago, but a failure to commit and a socially awkward disposition have left her collecting degree after degree. When she wins a trip to The Ski Lodge over winter break, she and her two best friends pack up and head out with dreams of adventure.

After a brief encounter with intensely awkward billionaire Chance Belgarde, Ryann is certain she never wants to see him again.  

Unfortunately, nature has other plans. 

A blizzard traps everyone in the lodge and triggers an avalanche, extending their stay together. When people start to panic, their darker natures come out to play.  Chance and Ryann will have to come together if they want to make it out of this trip in one piece.

After lunch the next day, Chance and I were again assigned to the battery closet. Apparently, several people hadn't come to our previous one because of their work assignments, so here we were.  


When Beady Eyes popped up at my table, I flinched and stepped back into Chance's chest automatically. Chance's arms came around my waist in an instant and held me tight to him.  


Beady Eyes smirked and held out four AA batteries. "I need to exchange these, lovebirds." 


I sucked in a deep breath through my nose and stepped away from Chance. He let me go, but I could practically smell his disapproval. I snatched the batteries from Beady Eyes and stepped around an unmovable Chance to put them away and grab new ones.  


"You sure you don't want me to refresh those bruises?" Beady Eyes asked, smirking at Chance. 


I slammed the new AA's on the table and glared up at Beady Eyes.  


He threw his head back and laughed before grinning down at me. "You're a feisty one."
