House Call

*KNOCK KNOCK*

The door to the large house opens, and we're waved inside. The door is quickly shut behind us, and we're ushered down to a basement with several sections.

"This area is soundproof, so nobody will be able to hear what goes on down here." Our guide speaks, assuring us that what happens down here shall remain a secret. We go deeper until we arrive at the farthest section.

"Now," Clarity turns around and points at a series of targets she's lined against the far wall. "Let's get started with the experiments."

A wide grin stretches across my face, while beside me Harry has an apprehensive look.

I point the palm of my hand towards a target with a drawing of Dudley on its face and speak one word.

"Boom."

An explosion rocks the room, and when the smoke clears, all that remains of the target is bits of ash and smoke. The burning drawing quickly disappearing as it floats to the ground.

My mind thinks back to the start of the week when Clarity and I discovered that I have this power.

I REALLY want to blow up more stuff, but Clarity convinces me to wait until Harry and I go over to her house this weekend.

Apparently she thinks that this ability is "dangerous" and that we should "study" it. I mean, I don't disagree, but there's one major point that conflicts with this.

IT'S BLEEDING FUN!!

Still though, I let her convince me to not use it until we meet up over the weekend. Afterall, we don't know what kind of limits the ability might have, nor who might be watching me.

When I mention wanting to tell Harry, she argues, but in the end we both know that the needs to be told. Not only is he my twin, but he's coming along with me to her house. He might have an ability as well!

After that quick discussion, we flee the dead end, thankfully avoiding anyone from finding us next to the small craters where trash used to be.

The next day the three of us meet in that same dead end, and there Clarity has a surprise for us.

Phones!

Not just any kind of phone either, but cellular phones!

Apparently they're the newest model, called Motorola DynaTAC. We've heard the Dursleys mention them before, but since they have a home phone they never got one.

These things can be used outside the home anywhere in the city! They don't have wires or anything!

They don't let you talk for long, less than an hour before they need to be charged, but still! These are something that the Dursleys don't have, but we do!

(Ah, the feeling of superiority filling me is so nice. I might get addicted~.)

We'll have to hide them, but that's not a problem. It's not like they enter our cupboard anyways.

It took a bit to shake him out of his shock, but after explaining the situation to Harry and giving a little demonstration with a nearby stick, we managed to get him to agree not to mention it.

Well, it's not like we're at risk of telling anyone. Clarity is the only one we talk to. As for the Dursleys, well. I'm more at risk of using it on them than telling them.

(Do not give into temptation. Do not give into temptation. Do not give into temptation. Maybe a little...?)

""No!"" Harry and Clarity both shout at me. Can they read my mind now...?

I managed to go the whole week without blowing up the Dursleys. It was a struggle, but I did it. Talking with Clarity over the phone helped a lot. And she gave me snacks at school every day I didn't blow them up!

Anyways, now it's Saturday. The three of us are under Clarity's house testing my explosions.

Range, power, focus. We're testing them all.

What we've discovered is interesting. My range is at least as long as the basement, if not longer. And I can basically do what I want with the explosions. I can make them small and powerful, or large and harmless. For that last one I wanted to double check with a person, and Harry decided that he would be voluntold for it!

Ah, the trust between twins.

Anyways, the explosion I used on him covered his whole body, but did no damage whatsoever. Just like the target I used before him. Afterwards I caused an explosion the size of a one pound coin on a target, and the whole thing disappeared! We have no idea how it happened either!

After that display, Harry fainted.

A quick discussion later and we decide that we're done with the tests for the day. Tomorrow we're going to see if I can do other things.

While we carry Harry upstairs to lay him on the couch, I consider what I've been feeling inside. It's not the thrill of causing explosions, but something else.

I would describe it as pool of energy inside me. I drained it too nearly empty today and as it go lower, I started to feel light-headed. I didn't mention it to Clarity yet because I want to see how it feels while we test it tomorrow.

As I feel it refill though, I can tell that it has expanded a bit.
