Jessie Woolley didn't seem to realize there was anything wrong with what she said, she looked up at the two men who looked puzzled, and flopped on the couch, biting her apple with crunches. Even though she had a pretty face like an angel, there was a certain careless roughness about her.
"What's with the faces?"
The mentor shook himself out of his surprise, sneaking a look at Caleb Baker beside him, covering his awkward laugh with a cough: "Jessie is always making jokes, her playful nature hasn't changed a bit."
Jessie Woolley: "I'm very serious."
Mentor: "...Ha-ha."
Someone needs to fill the gap. He can't deal with it anymore.
Caleb Baker was silent for about ten seconds, he lifted his head, his eyes dark, emotion seemingly colder than before. His red lips twitched subtly: "Are you teasing me?"
Jessie Woolley tossed aside the apple core: "So what if I am?"
"..."
She actually dared.
He could already feel the extreme sincerity and provocation in the woman's attitude.
