He took her suitcase and said to the hailing driver, "We're not going to the bus station."

The driver left in a sulk.

Rae stood on tiptoes and brushed off the snow from Wyatt's shoulder, "Why are you here?"

Wyatt said, "To pick you up."

She was delighted, smiling with her eyes curving into crescents, "It's still a long way off."

They still had to change vehicles several times; his effort to pick her up seemed a bit too far, consuming almost half a day just for the round trip.

"Do you want to eat something first?"

The journey ahead was long, and Rae didn't want to delay, she looked around, "There's a Baked Sweet Potato seller over there. Just buying some will do."

Wyatt went to buy some Baked Sweet Potatoes and hot drinks, asking if she wanted anything else, but she said no. He led her to the roadside, set down the suitcase, hailed a taxi, and the driver, seeing the luggage, prepared to get out.

Wyatt said, "No need to get out."
