"Who deserves who? What are you talking about?"
Holding her newly bought bag, Kate came in happily.
Yesterday, she almost clung to Mr. Jake. As long as Ashley was not blind, she should know to abdicate. She was the wife of the president!
"Kate, come here!"
The receptionist, who had a good relationship with her, came over and said, "It's Mrs. Ashley! Go to her office and have a look. You can't recognize her!"
Ashley?
Was it because of what happened last night that the woman made a fool of herself in the company?
With a complacent look in her eyes, Kate took the breakfast she just bought to her office. Without knocking at the door, she went straight in. "Ashley, I bought breakfast for you!"
There was no one inside.
Kate frowned. That woman was not in the office. She snorted and turned around to go out, but Ashley's voice came from the lounge, "I'm inside."
"Ashley, why are you here so early? Are you too tired last night? Last night, I..."
As she spoke, she walked to the door of the restroom and suddenly saw the woman standing in front of the clothes rack.
"What did you want to see me about?"
Ashley took off her coat and revealed her red dress. As she walked, the hemline of her dress swayed and her slender and white ankle was slightly exposed. Her long hair was disheveled, and her makeup was enchanting. When she didn't smile, she looked noble, cold, and eye-catching.
"I... I don't know..." as soon as she finished her words, Kate realized that she had made a gaffe. She bit her lower lip and walked up to her, holding her hand in a coquettish manner. "Ashley, why haven't I seen you dressed like this before?"
"Don't you see it now?"
Without any good attitude to her, she withdrew her hand coldly.
"Ashley, why don't you explain it to me?" said Kate in a pettishly charming manner as usual. "I still like your previous style. I can tell at a glance that you are a leader!"
"If you like it, you can wear it tomorrow."
Ashley was sorting through the documents and didn't look at her at all.
Kate was choked and her face darkened.
"By the way, I have considered that you are not my secretary from today on." Ashley handed the sorted documents to her.
Kate was shocked. Was she going to fire her? Was the excitement last night too much? This old woman couldn't help asking her to leave here?
"Ashley, why? I like to be your secretary very much. I can learn a lot from you. Did I make you angry? Don't drive me away!"
Without answering her, she pointed at the document and said, "Read it first."
Seeing that she didn't give her a chance, Kate cursed in her heart and opened the document.
"Well..." she widened her eyes, "You want me to be Mr. Jake's secretary?"
"Yes."
Ashley took a sip of water and asked, "You don't want to go there?"
Not! Greed flashed through Kate's eyes.
How could she be unwilling?
As long as she was given more time, she would become the wife of the Jake family sooner or later. What about Ashley?
However.
"Ashley, I don't think it's a good idea." she pushed the document back, pretending to be hesitant. "I've been your secretary since I entered the company. I haven't been with you for so long, and I've already treated you as my sister. I don't want you to leave."
She pretended to sob and looked at Ashley secretly.
She didn't know why this woman became so strange today.
"Well, I don't want to force you." Ashley brought another document, on which was the resume of a young woman. "I have another candidate. If you don't want to, I will let her go."
Kate took a look at the girl on her resume. She just graduated this year. In the photo, her eyes were bright and her teeth were pure and attractive.
If Ashley put such a woman beside Jake, could he still remember her existence?!
"Ashley, you can't!" she refuted.
"What's wrong?"
Raising her eyes, she seemed to be able to see through Kate.
"I'm sorry. I've thought it over. Your decision is wise," she said, withdrawing her thoughts. "I'm willing to follow your arrangement. I will work hard and won't let you down after I go to Jake's place!"
"That's good," Ashley said with a smile. "You can pack up your things now and go there today."
Walking out of the office, Kate still felt uneasy.
Wasn't the photo taken last night enough to arouse her suspicion?
Or did she like Mr. Jake so much that she didn't care about it at all?
"What are you doing here?"
Seeing that it was Kate who pushed the office door open, Jake frowned.
Kate closed the door and threw herself into the arms Jake weakly. "Why are you talking to me like this, Jake? Don't you like me?"
"We are in the company. Why are you here?"
Ashley's reaction this morning was very strange. She needed to be on high alert.
"It was Ashley who asked me to come here so that I can see you every day. I don't want to go to the hotel with you anymore..." said Kate, fumbling restlessly.
Jack straightened up and said, "Why did she ask you to come here all of a sudden?"
Without answering his question, Kate leaned over and kissed his lips.
The atmosphere in the office suddenly changed.
As he immersed himself in the whole process, the beautiful face of Ashley appeared in his mind from time to time. He hadn't seen her like that for a long time.
"Mrs. Ashley, there is a document that needs to be signed in a hurry, but the door of Mr. Jake's office is closed. Can you help me sign it?" An employee came with a document in her hand.
After signing the paper, Ashley sneered in her heart.
She just arrived, and they couldn't wait?
After the staff went out, Ashley took out her phone and dialed a number.
"Get me a high-definition one. Yes, come and pack it tonight."
After work in the evening, Jake came to her office, which was rare to be seen. He asked tentatively, "Are you still working? How about having dinner together?"
As soon as he approached, Ashley smelled the perfume of another woman on his body, and there were traces similar to lipstick on his collar.
Ashley thought it was funny.
Now she recalled that she had seen these marks on his body several times, but he always told her that it was a coincidence.
She had never doubted it before and believed it naively.
"Honey, I have to work overtime tonight, so I don't have time to have dinner with you," said Ashley with an innocent smile, her eyes as seductive as silk.
Without that pair of inconvenient glasses, her eyes seemed to be able to speak, and anyone who looked up would be attracted.
Feeling hot and dry all over his body, Jake came forward and held her hand. "It's the same to deal with these things tomorrow. We haven't gone out for dinner for a long time."
