Storm of Indra

~Activating Storm of Indra in five… four… three..~ Indra began to count down as the metal plates spun around Slate's arm.

Kumara clasped at Indra's leg, trying to force it off of his chest and push Slate away. Bolts of golden energy shot out in all directions from Indra, ripping the earth asunder and leaving cracks along the street and destroying what was left of buildings.

Kumara let out what sounded like a roar of rage, red energy bursting from his body in waves that seemed to distort everything around him.

"What the hell is going on? What's he doing?"

~Two…~

"Indra!"

~One.~

A shockwave of golden energy exploded from Indra's arm, the blast tearing the earth open and ripping up the ground completely, as though a nuke had blown up from beneath the city. At the same time, a ball of red light formed in Kumara's chest which expanded outward, distorting everything it reached. Indra bent in and out unnaturally before being blasted into the air, spinning end over end into the sky.

*BEEP BEEP BEEP*

Alarms sounded in Slate's head endlessly. He diverted power to his thrusters and stabilized himself in the air above the city, looking down at the chaos sewn below.

A massive crater now existed in the heart of the city, taking up almost all of the space that had once been flat ground now being a city-sized pit.

Smoke rolled into the air, billowing in clusters of black. At the center of the crater stood Kumara, holding his should and slouching as if injured.

The Indra stared down the Kumara for a long moment. Then Kumara vanished in a flash of red.

Slate threw his head back and groaned. "What the hell did I get myself into." He sighed, "soon as I wake, no memories at all, the first ones I make are of fighting and destruction. What the hell was with that teleporting bullshit anyway?"

~Not certain. It is most likely that unit's unique ability. All Utopians have them, for example They Indra's is Storm Duality.~

"Storm duality?"

~Indra has two forms, White Indra and Dark Indra, one being considerably stronger than the other. White Indra's attacks are made up of fast strikes, melee combat, and powerful charge attacks of lightning, whilst Dark Indra can… error, data not found.~

"What the hell?" Slate said, still hovering in the air as smoke billowed by him. "What do you mean by 'error'?"

~I mean what I mean. I cannot find any data on Dark Indra or how to activate it.~

"That's bull! You aren't hiding shit from me are you?"

~No. I simply do not have the information in my database.~

"Jeez, what kind of loose wire do you have going?" Slate asked. His head swiveled off to the distance. There, he could see flashes of green flying towards them. "The Ligrass are on their way. We should go."

~Agreed. Which way shall we go, then?~

"Don't know, don't care. I don't think it matters really, just pick a direction and go. And I pick away, from them."

Indra twisted around and leaned forward, shooting through the air like a jet, blasting through the clouds into the sky.

~Warning: enemies inbound.~

"What?"

~It would appear that we have been detected on their radar.~

"Damnit! Can I get a break please!"

The Indra looked over its shoulder. Behind it trailed strange four-armed machines of black and green color. Rays of green energy trailed behind them as they flew after Slate. Beams of green light shot forward from their arms, shooting towards Slate who dove and twisted between them.

Indra flipped on its back in the air, send a spray of gold light towards the Ligrass, successfully destroying two of the six.

~Diverting all power to thrusters for full retreat.~

"What? Why?" Slate asked, "I can easily kill them."

~Incoming Gamadoss.~

"Gamadoss? What the hell is that?"

~just retreat.~

Slate groaned, "Fine." He turned and burst through the air, a shockwave being left in his place as he disappeared.

~We are now out of enemy range.~

"Damnit.. finally." Slate stopped flying, dropping down out of the air and descending to the forest below.

He landed, his feet sinking into the dirt as he collapsed to his knees.

"How am I exhausted even though my body is made of metal?"

~Your mind is still human, thus, mental exhaustion is still possible.~ Indra explained.

"I see.. so then what? Do I sleep?"

~You will enter a rest state. Your system will shut down and you will recover mentally and your Myrion levels will return to normal.~

Indra walked over to a tree and sat, back against it. "Fine then. I guess there is not much else to do. Pull up a map."

~As you wish.~

"Where is the nearest city or town?"

~There is a town near us called Neymea. As all others, it is desolate and empty, but we may go there if you wish upon the dawn of tomorrow.~

"Yes, set that as our coordinates. I want to find other Utopians."

~Understood.~

Slate looked up into the leaves above him. He suddenly felt lost, and alone. Now that things had finally slowed down a bit, he came to realize just how alone he was. There were no humans to be found anywhere, only hostile enemies. He had no one to accompany him other than an AI with an attitude, and he had no real goal other than to wander the world aimlessly and find Utopians. He began to feel like every action he took was pointless.

He began to wonder what his human self was like. What were his memories? Who was he? Where did he come from? Who did he care about, and who cared about him? What was his purpose, how did he come to be where he was now? These questions were all that filled his mind.

~Entering rest mode.~ Indra spoke, and then everything went black.
