C20 - Left Alone

Vidus with a little hasted pace walked back to the building of the prison. As he took his steps faster, a sudden shock pushed him back.

'Oh no! What happened?!' He shouted inwardly and fastened his steps.

A few moments later he arrived near the prison and he noticed Lyanna's leaving. He looked at her face and in a mere moment, he found her expression strange, too strange. Her behavior was out of the ordinary.

Her eyes emitted a sorrowful look while her surroundings blended like the waving water. The feeling of anger was clear when she passed Vidus who was rooted into the ground.

Each step was terrifying. The common people coughed as Lyanna passed them, who were not enough lucky and could retreat a few steps from her are vomited a mouthful of blood. Some older people fainted too.

Vidus eyes followed her moves as Lyanna slowly left the city through the western gate. The light of a beam flashed inside him as he realized why her behavior changed this drastically.

He started to run towards the stable.

"Bring me a horse, now!" He yelled at the horse master after reaching the building.

The man didn't ask anything and quickly brought a well-fed horse and handed it over to Vidus. Without any more thoughts, he climbed on the horse and galloped towards the western gate.

Rushing through the city towards the west, the people just watched him with puzzled expressions.

'Please don't be too far!' He spoke to himself.

After he reached the gate, the guards lay on the ground unconsciously like they have been knocked out. Then he turned his head from right to left, maybe he can catch her shadows in his sight, but he didn't find her. He stood there without any idea, he stiffed his back and hit the horse, galloping to the west.

"Guys, you made nice work!" Tarnak praised his men.

"Thanks, leader."

"Thanks."

Everyone thanked the praises of Tarnak while they trotted south. Everyone's eyes were filled with energy and ecstasy. They did this kind of work a pretty long time ago and they enjoyed it to the last second.

"But do you believe they said the truth?" One of the other squad members asked.

"Relax, guys." Woran interrupted them. "Even if they didn't honest, we will find out soon. After all, not only one person told the same."

"We will go back to refill our stocks and go back to Lakron." Tarnak said.

"Why don't we refill those things in Lakron?" One asked with a puzzled expression.

"Lakron don't have those quality materials that we used to." Another soldier answered.

Everyone nodded as they understood the aims of their leaders, leaving the region of Morakhon.

Meanwhile, Lyanna took long steps, reaching the monastery in mere 10 minutes. When the sight of the shadows of the monastery appeared before her eyes on the horizon, she slowed down her moving, canceling the aura that consumed all leftover mana she recovered in the past hours.

Her heartbeat was faster as she got closer to the monastery. The door was cracking, breaking off halfway as the wind has blown through the opened building. The sky slowly turned darker as clouds appeared on it, blurring the shining sun.

She touched the door, opened it up, and stepped inside. The view was anything but pleasant, a normal person throwing up at the moment when the smell invaded its nose, yet Lyanna's face stayed calm except for the tears that slowly rolled down her cheeks.

The walls looked like a beast rampaged the place, filling with deep cuts and numerous bloodstains, splatters, and handprints. If one looked at it carefully, it can be seen that the blood somewhere flowed down on the wall.

She stepped on the stairs and walked to the first floor, turning her head towards one specific room while she ignored the horrible surroundings. A sudden breeze crossed the hall, grabbing some dust and puffed in the face of Lyanna. A quiet moan resounded in the breeze filled with pain.

Lyanna stood before the door and pulled it slowly, letting the breeze help her open it faster.

In the darkened sky, only the thundering lighted up the monastery as all candles were extinguished that were enchanted with an eternal burning of a flame of a fiery aura user. The thundering sounds echoed much louder from the Crown Canyon to Lyanna's ears.

In the dark, a sudden light gave her a momentary second to realize the room and its condition. The outlines of someone pulsed in her peripheral vision, making her turn her head to the right. Few nearly lifeless words could be heard under the mighty thundering that's fierce shook the world.

"Ru-... Run. An-... An...na."
