Hong Gi said they were good. He'd actually said those words. "We're good now." But it didn't feel like they were good. He was still keeping his distance. Avoiding her touch like she was contagious. Steph didn't know what was up with the mixed signals, but she figured she deserved whatever he dished out. 

Once she'd changed and gathered her belongings, Hong Gi held the door open for Steph. She slipped by him, her arm brushing his chest. He fell back. Any other time, he would have leaned into her with his hand resting on the small of her back. Steph cringed. At this rate, it would be a long day.

Their first stop was The Flour Pot where Jessie and Jakara were tagging teaming a wedding cake while Betty held down the front counter. Jessie rushed to Steph as soon as she walked in the door and wrapped her in a rib-cracking hug.
