Crack in the Armor

If she touched him one more time, even the slightest of brushes, Hong Gi knew he would fall apart in her arms, and he wasn't ready to do that yet. He needed to know she was all in first. He needed to know that he could trust her out of his sight.

Right now, it felt like he was alone in the world with no lifeline. Luke would show up for him, he was certain, but Luke had a way of escalating problems more often than solving them. If Luke found out Steph left him, he would immediately hop on a plane and rush to his side. All well and good. Only once he was there he'd remind Hong Gi of how many times he'd told him dating Steph was a bad idea.

So Hong Gi stood along against a flood of mixed emotions. He'd put up an ice block wall between him and Steph in part because of the pain that threatened to tear him apart. In part because he wasn't nearly as okay with finding Steph half dressed in a room with a stranger as he'd let on.
