Shower Fresh

Tate took his time in the bathroom. The longer he stayed in there, the longer Luke would stay with him. He realized he was being childish, but he didn't care. He'd worked so hard to have Luke in his life, and now that it looked like Luke might accept him, he didn't want to give ground.

It also meant it was the longer he could put off answering Luke's question. He wasn't ready for that confession yet.

A knock at the hotel room door ended his stall, but on the bright side, he had time to shower, put on a face mask, and check his email first. He was rushing through removing the mask when he heard Luke answer the door.

"Luke, it's you." Kim's muffled voice bled through the bathroom door.

"Tate is in the bathroom."

"I brought soup."

Tate shook his head at the disjointed exchange. The men epitomized the stone wall talking to the concrete sidewalk.

"You can wait," Luke stated.

"I want to talk to you."

"I'm leaving."
