Chapter Two: “ Start Of The Raid “

( Narrator )

On to the next day Kori woke up and got ready to leave for work, and you may be asking what is somebody so young as him?. Going to work... well let's find out.

" 10 minutes before the next raid will start " Kori talks out loud as he change his clothes. Wearing a dark green coat which is chanted with a low-level protection spell. Same thing with his pants and dark brown boots, grabbing his phone and headphones before going out.

Taking a few minutes walk to a bus stop which sends him to his job, which is collecting crystal's from dead Destroyers. Which in returns gives him a decent paycheck from the organization he is working under for.

It's called " APEX " which is lead by Jackson Grey himself, but he doesn't show up to it. Which lead him hiring a temporary leader for it. And you might be wondering what I'm talking about? Well during the past five years. The hero's and the government from multiple country's, talk about creating so called organizations or guilds if you want to call it. That is lead by ether one of the 10 hero's or some government official.

The guild that I'm working at has mostly B and A ranked Hunters in it, who joined to become Hero's themself. Which is a lie most of the time, some came for money and fame, some wanted to slay Destroyers. Ether or, while myself who is a F ranked Hunter can collect only crystals.

The guild only has around 100 F-ranked hunters who could only mine crystals from dead Destroyers. But before I continue on let's starts with the ranking system for any guild.

F-ranked is for people who are not gifted with mana, the lowest of the lowest. They are trash that the strong despise, ordinary people that guilds use as canon folder. People like them can only gather crystals and that's it, that's where I am. They could get a job somewhere else but nowadays, if you don't have mana then you can't get a job for ordinary people like us.

E-ranked are hunters that have mana but it is really weak, they are still trash in the eyes of the strong. But they at least could get an average job with what they have, but the paycheck for them are low. Like us who struggle with money.

D-rankers have decent amount of mana but slightly have better treatment then E and F rankers.

C-ranked hunters are rankers that have average mana and is treated more better, they could join groups and hunt together.

B-rankers are stronger hunters that have more mana then a average hunter. They could go in a raid and solo it by themselves without a trouble. These people have lots of respect on their power and fame.

A-rankers are hunters that is at the top of the ladder, they can be strong as a country. These people are usually assistant's to the guild masters or can become one themselves.

Now we're going at the pinnacle strength that humans can ever dream of reaching.

S-rankers are beings that are super humans that can cut the sea in half, obliterate a huge mountain with one punch, and possibly destroy a continent. But again these are only rumors since most of the S-rankers keep to themselves, and barely go on raids unless it's a important. Or it's a wave then these people will immediately be there.

Next is where the peak of humans can achieve with skill, luck, and power. The SS-ranked hunters are on a different level, these superhuman beings can kill an SS-ranked destroyer. Which is an ancient crimson dragon, a being that can destroy the world with its flames.

That's where are famous hero Arthur Pentagon is currently at with the other few hunter's under him. If the other SS-ranked and S-ranked fought him there is no doubt he will come on top. His blessing is nothing to laugh at.

Kori monologue's to the viewers as he finally arrives at the guild, walking inside to greet a security guard who is Ranked B. His name is Bobby Lin a funny and chill guy.

" How's your day been Kori? " Bobby spoke as he took Kori's card, before giving it back to him.

" It's all good, still having trouble trying to fully connect with you know who " Kori says as he took Bobby's handshake.

" Damn bro that must sucks, hope you have a successful raid once again " Bobby said back in a sincere tone, as kori nods before walking pass him.

Going to the lockers to get his bag which has a badge number 666, a devils number which he doesn't give a fuck about. Once he open his locker he could hear chuckles from the side, as he turn his head to see a few C-ranked hunters who are going to be on this raid. Laughing like a bunch of morons, making little movement with their fingers. Using it to show horns on top of their head which made kori grumble a bit.

These are the treatment that F and E rank people get most of the time, these people are blessed with better mana. And when I say bless It mean's some of them got a blessing from a god.

Those who gets a gods blessing becomes a little stronger then those who are not, you can go to a church to get a blessing from the goddess of the light. Or you can get one from a different god/goddess which takes a hefty amount of money.

When you usually go try and get a blessing from a god, it's usually the one you and past ancestors pray the most to. Unless you are lucky enough you randomly get one even if you don't believe in a god or belong to a certain religion.

As Kori walked out of the locker following a path outside to a truck, with Almost already filled F-rankers or collectors if you wanna call it. Stepping inside of the back, sitting on the edge as he waits for it to move.

After Five minutes the truck is finally filled as the driver starts moving out, going down the road as he sees another truck, but instead is filled with 15 C-rank hunters. Looking away as he stare at the gloomy sky.

( Looks like it's about to rain ) Kori thought as he close his eyes, enjoying the breeze of the cold wing. Brushing against his hair and skin as he enjoys the silent ride.

Which didn't last long as the truck stops after an hour of driving.

" Ok here we are get going " The driver told the collectors to get off, which they did as they stand in 2 lines. Outside of a transparent blue rift as other hunters at the level B-rank is guarding it.

You may be wondering what is a rift? A rift is a mini version of the wave which can be entered, so we called this a raid. While a wave happens when a strong enough mana gets crunch up into one single location, which is at the sky or on the ground. Waves are mostly for more powerful Destroyers that logic and physics doesn't apply to.

Now let's get back to the topic of the raid, a raid is when we go inside a rift. And kill every single Destoyer inside in till there is no more, after that we collect the crystals before going back out. Once we are out the rifts will closed, signaling that the raid is finish. Then repeat later on.

Kori yawns as he saw a leader which he knows to well, his name is John. A person that he hates deeply inside, he is an C-rank hunter who strengthens himself with mana in his fist. His gift is " Rocket Punch " might sound lame but his punch lands with the force of an actually rocket. But it takes time to charge it to it's potential power, but whatever.

" My name is John today I'm going to be the leader of the raid, follow my lead and we will finish this quickly " John spoke proudly as everybody nods before following behind.
