Chapter One: “ The Beginning “

Kori and Lilith could be seen walking along the streets, passing futuristic cars that runs on magical crystals. With each passing time kori is humming a tune which annoyed Lilith.

" Could you shut up? " Lilith spoke in annoyance as she rolls her eyes.

" Why? I thought you lik- " Before kori could say anything else, he was interrupted by a male voice.

" Yo Lilith! How you doing girl? " The voice of an male spoke in happiness, as both of them turn towards a guy wearing simple jeans and a plain black T-shirt. With a gold chain around his neck while holding his shades in his hand. With few other people right behind him, who were looking at kori in disgust.

" I'm doing good John " Lilith spoke back as she walk away from kori, who reach his hand out half way. Before stopping, as he saw John put his hand around her shoulders. As all five them start walking away chatting about their days.

But not before John leaving a glare at kori who look down clutching his hand, as he waited for the group to leave. Noticing that they were gone he walked to a different direction, crossing the road which earned him a few remarks.

" Watch where you are walking asshole! " Random middle aged man shouted, as he hurried away to whatever the fuck he was doing.

Walking along the streets alone as he stopped to see a large posture, of 10 individuals with the title " Hero of Humanity " located on the top of the poster.

( Why am I the only one that suffers in this fucking world, with the quote " weak deserves to die while the strong survives " ) Kori putted his hand on the poster, to see the names of the 10 hero's.

You might be wondering who are these 10 hero's of humanity? Let me tell you a story back in 2020.

The day of July first 2020 in New York center, a holiday that celebrate the new year and the new you. Was an catastrophic event that will forever be placed down as the worst day in history. Portal's of unknown origin appeared from the sky, Monstrous creatures that defy's logic and physics came out of the portal.

Killing every single human on that very gruesome night, scream and cry's of terror fill the air. As the beast's rip and tears through the crowd of humans, who could only run. As one by one die from getting devoured, rip apart, step on, you name it.

The event went on for 6 months, 6 months of humanity trying to fight back. Endless slaughter of are own kin, the greatest soldiers that fell down for the sake of humanity. When hope that was lost a hero emerge from the crowd, glowing aura that lights up the area. A human that goes by the name Arthur….. cliche right? But anyways Arthur was a man of honor and pride. In his 20's he made proudful achievements that every boy, men, woman, should be expired to be.

He who gained the favor of The lady of the lake who gave him her blessing, summoned a blade almost made out of gold. A hilt that has a solid base with the sides extruding outwards, a handle that is sturdy and can be grip easily. A 30-inch blade made of the strongest metal that is enchanted with magic.

Slaying through thousand of monstrous beast, demons, serpents, Orcs, etc. he gave hope to humanity as he slay those who puts humanity to harm. Risking his life day and night for a shed of light and warmth to the people.

Earned the honor of a true hero as humanity started pushing back the beasts, we now call destroyers. As humanity starts fighting back more and people start showing up with powers. We call those " The gifted " who are gained the chance to use magic. Some could control the wether, some could control gravity and time itself. Not without mana which is the primary way to use magic. The more we have the stronger we become to be the beacon of hope.

After a few years we managed to get rid of almost every single monster on earth, freeing city's and county's from their destruction. As more hero's appeared.

Jackson Gray, an American heavyweight boxer who became gifted with the power of " The ultimate defense ". A sturdy body that is nigh-indestructible as he became the shield of the United States, who ranked SS.

Akene Velvet, a beautiful Japanese woman with flawless skin. Who is a gardener before monstrous man eating plants appeared, she gain the ability " The mother of nature ". Giving her the ability to control elements like water, fire, earth, wind, etc. her rank is stated to be S rank in the world.

Hui Mei, another beautiful woman who is Chinese. A student who is still in college at the age of 15 now 20. Earned the title " Fire Queen " and just like what the title says, she can control fire. Her rank is S.

Dae-Hyun, a Korean male athlete who was a top level jujutsu contender, earned the tile " Infinity ". What the title means is that his mana is infinite, he applies that to his style of jujutsu. Which fused his whole body with mana, taking down any opponents at once or becoming unstoppable to almost unbeatable.

Louis Pierre, a French male sword master Partitioner who earned the title " The strongest sword master ". Ranked SS who became Rivals with Jackson Gray.

George William, a blacksmith worker who made weapons for a living. His title is " Hammer of Hephaestus ". A British male who designed today's modern weapons and defenses. Ranked SS for his strong craftsmanship.

Next is another American woman who is Gracie Hills she is a combat medic nurse, who survived the 5th frontline of humanity's defense base. She earned the title of "healer " being blessed by the goddess of light. Has the power to heal any wound as long as you have a physical body. Ranked SS.

Luana Smith, a female Brazil wrestler who earn the title of " Undying Spirit " her will is the strongest. Earn her place in the SS rank.

Victoria Sega, a mix Russian girl who is an ice cold beauty. Having the title " Strongest Woman ". Having been constantly bullied pre-event she train herself to be the strongest woman on earth. Becoming another SS ranked member.

And finally Arthur Pentagon, the leader of the 10 hero's and humanity's savior. Who gained multiple titles. " Hero of Humanity ", " Strongest Warrior " , " Excalibur Welder ", and finally " King of Men ".

These hero's gave hope to humanity once more but the downside, the gifted became to prideful and ignorant over the pass five years. Five years since the arrival of the destroyer's, five years since my family died from those damn hero's....

Kori punched the poster as he glare at every single one of them before walking away, cursing himself for not becoming one of the gifted. As he walks himself back to his shabby apartment complex, that he struggles to get by.

Arriving in front of a dirty looking building, he walked upstairs to his room. 110 is his room as he walked inside closing the dirt behind him, as he sat on his whistle mattress. Turning on the T.V to some random channel, as he grabbed a cup of instant noodles. Heating it up before grabbing a drink as he sat down watching the news.

" News central, today we had a successful wave cleared with no other, then Victoria Sega. " the News reporter announced as kori makes a tch sound.

" Of course she did " Kori stating the obvious shit as he turn the channel.

Watching some new air anime as he sigh, checking his phone which is powered by crystal's. Which is found in the Destroyer's core, using it to power buildings, weapons, basic needs, etc. since scientists found the potent of energy quiet high in the crystals of dead Destroyer's.

" I got to work tomorrow, glad it's the weekend " Kori check the time that says 4:59 pm 2025.

Before washing up getting ready to sleep like any normal day of his shitty life.
