Move to Jakarta

Part 31

"Dora, what do you think if we move to Jakarta?" asked Bang Bayu that night. I was cleaning the dining utensils. I turned to him. I was a little surprised to hear the question asked by Bang Bayu. "Moving to Jakarta? What do you mean, Bro?" I asked not understanding.

Bang Bayu nodded confidently and then told him that his uncle in Jakarta offered Bang Bayu to open a lawyer's office in Jakarta. He has a building that has not been occupied for a long time and he offers Bang Bayu to open the building.

"So, how's the office here, Bro?" I asked again.

"Keep going, Wawan will supervise. This time, the office belongs to me and Wawan. If in Jakarta later, I will take care of it himself because Uncle David only offered the building. The rest will be managed," He replied.

I was done with my task, then chose to sit beside him. As usual, He embraced my shoulder affectionately.

"How? Do you agree or not? There are better prospects there. I'm sure we will be successful there," he continued later.

"If Dora, just follows my husband's decision. Dora believes that you will not disappoint and make us miserable later," I answered confidently.

"Thank you, dear. For always supporting and always by my side."

______

Three Months Later. We moved to Jakarta, although during the previous month He had to go first to prepare everything. After everything was enough, then I and my two children followed. Mama and Papa always support whatever Bang Bayu does.

They believe that later their son-in-law will be successful in his work. He rented out a house that wasn't too big for us to live in while in Jakarta. Hafis was forced to change schools because soon he would enter elementary school. He is always busy these few days.

They are approaching the opening of his office, but there are still many things that must be addressed and done by him. In the meantime, He has recruited three employees who will help in his office. If it is stable and there is progress, we plan to discuss employees again. Thankfully, thanks to Uncle David's help, Bang Bayu has found a client whom he will assist in the trial. After the opening of the office, which was mostly attended by his colleague, uncle David, He started to get busy.

What's more, after he managed to win the case he was handling, several people who were in trouble with the law also asked him for help. He was just getting busy, even coming home only briefly. It was also still busy with reading some files that would be handled the next day.

Sometimes until late at night, he would still be in one of the bedrooms that we turned into Bang Bayu's study. That night, it rained heavily. It was already one o'clock at night, I, who had been standing since nine o'clock earlier, came out of the room.

Slowly I headed to Bang Bayu's office. Knock! Knock! Knock! I knocked on the door and said hello. Bang Bayu returned my greeting and told me to go inside. I went in and immediately saw the pile of files that were still very much on his desk.

"Not done yet, bro?" I asked, massaging his shoulder.

"A little more, just write down a few points that will be used in the trial tomorrow," answered Bang Bayu.

"Hmm, work hard every night. Aren't you tired, Bro?" I asked then.

"Hmm, actually very tired. But you have to work hard so that everything is stable first, then you can relax a little," he replied.

"You can work hard, Bang. But remember to take care of your health. If you get sick, we are the same as sad," I said reminding him.

"Don't worry, I'll take care of your health, alright, the amlam work is done. There's only one more left," he said, glaring at me with a mysterious smile.

"What else? It's late, you know," I protested. He stood up and hugged me tightly, then kissed my lips briefly then whispered in my ear.

"It's not over yet...." He didn't continue his words but instead kissed me deeper. Finally, that night I also did not sleep. ______

Time goes on without being able to be prevented or repeated. My husband's company is progressing and they have handled many cases. He was also looking for new lawyers to help run the company. That afternoon, he had just returned from his office. I also made a cup of coffee for him.

"Thank you, honey," he said after drinking my coffee.

"Yes, dear. How is the office today? Have you got a new employee?" I asked.

"Thank God, I have. Three people have been accepted, and all of them are young. But I'm sure that they can work well. Especially the employee named Bagus, he seems friendly and responsive," he replied with a smile.

Bagus? His name alone is good so I'm sure he won't let us down in the future.

"Where are the children, why can't your voice be heard? Usually, they greet their papa noisily?" he asked.

"Oh, they are going to the mosque, now there is an activity to study the Koran before the Maghrib prayer there," I replied.

"Oh, that's good then. So the children will be smarter to recite it. Hmm, I want to take a shower first. Hot!"

He went to his room, I followed him to prepare clothes for my husband. After that, I went to the kitchen to prepare dinner.

"Assalamualaikum, Mother. Is Dad home?"

Hafis's voice came from the living room, not long after he appeared in the dining room with his sister. They had finished the Koran at the mosque.

"Waalaikumsalam, dear. Dad is taking a shower, now you guys wash your hands, then we'll eat with dad," I replied.

"Okay, ma'am."

Hafis ran to his room and then came out again, apparently, he changed clothes. When he was sitting on the dining chair, I saw that he had bruises on his hands.

"Why your hands, Fis?
