Aftermath 2

Somewhere in a small black room, where lights couldn't be reflected, a boy on his knees could be seen crying alone.

"Stop..."

He covers his ears using both of his hands and looked down.

"Don't hate me..."

Tears slowly escalated down in his eyes as he shook his body around.

"It's thanks to me that the world your living is in peace."

He said that as more tears fell from his eyes.

"It's because of me that you people can understand peace."

"But why..."

He let go of his head and slumped his weakened shoulders down.

"Why can't you all understand that I've sacrificed my everything for the world?!"

He screamed out using his last bit of strength.

"Why can't you all just appreciate me?"

All his life he wanted someone to appreciate him...

"Please... thanking me is also fine..."

Thank him...

"Please stop hating me..."

And most of all...

"I'm begging you... I don't want to be alone again..."

But...

Even after all of that... No one listened.

He still became...

Alone...

"He... Hehe... Hehehe!"

The boy laughed.

"Hahahahaha!!"

He laughed in his heart content.

After crying until the last droplets, his eyes dried out, the boy now need something to let his emotions out.

And that 'something' was by laughing...

"HAHAHAHAHAHA!!"

He laughed... and laughed until his heart finally gave out.

His former self died after crying himself out, and he was now reborn back into something that he never wanted to be...

A heartless monster.

"Hahahahaha!"

Lifting up the scythe, that was doubled his height, beside him on his throne, the boy stood up from his seat while he continues to laugh in his heart content.

"-You will pay for what you did, demon!"

One of the soldiers below him raised his weapons to attack as the others behind him also followed.

"-Haaaaa!!"

They rushed through the stairs leading to the monster with their swords and spears aiming at the boy's head.

"Pft!"

Nobody is born evil or a sociopath... We were all harmless angels until our mentality for humanity finally broke.

"Hahahahaha!"

Now we are nothing but a roaming heartless monsters.

"Let's go then."

The boy grinned as he hopped down from his throne while holding onto his scythe.

*-Shriiing!*

"-Ugh!?"

With every swing, the people who got on his way died in a gruesome way.

*-Shriiing!*

*Clang!*

*Splurt-!*

The blood of the soldiers got into the boy's cheeks as his formal clothes were now fully dyed in red-blood.

With an evil grin forming from his face, the boy continued his slaughter.

"Hahaha!"

When he was done, he sat down once again and waited for the next people to come.

"If I can't have what I want, then, no one could have it either."

Saying this, the boy placed his scythe back where it belongs and stared at the lone survivor with a wide grin.

"It is all your fault that I became like this. All I wanted is to live a normal life, yet no one even tried to listen."

Upon his cold gaze, the last remaining survivor of the team crawl back in fear after seeing a black fog appear behind the boy that slowly became a human figure.

It then extended it's right hand to touch the boy's cheeks as it let out a long snide laugh that echoed the entire room.

From then, the moment the boy opened his mouth, the fog also imitated his mouth gesture.

"[No matter what you choose, you can't escape the script.]"

The boy and the fog's voiced in sync.

"[There's no need for me to rush things out]"

"[Laugh all you want for today because in the end, you'll be destined to destroy your happiness yourself.]"

Next, both of them stared down at the lone survivor deep in the eyes saying, "[You can never change your fate. You will always be bound by the 'End'.]"

With a quick pause, both of them made a grin showing their bare sharp teeth outside.

"[The future is absolute.]"

After the dream finished, I woked up still feeling tired without knowing why.

"Huuuu....?"

The moment my eyes opened, my sight were immediately bombarded with a bunch of different colors and lights.

"Where am I...?" I tried to get up from the bed, but I failed. Looking at my body, I quickly understood why.

With a bunch of bandages covering every part of my body, except for my left arm, I couldn't even feel them, let alone, move even my fingers in my right since they were also wrapped around in bandages.

I don't even need to use a mirror to understand that I was currently laying here looking like a well-preserved mummy that was about to be shown in a museum!

"Ack!..."

I felt my muscles ached the moment I tried raising my fully wrapped up with bandages and numb arm up.

"Ow..." I let out a pained groan as I rested my head back onto the bed, waiting for the pain to fully subdue.

With this kind of questions escalating in my mind, I moved my head slowly to look around to see if I can find some clues to find out where am I.

It was then the door of the room suddenly opened...

"I see that you're awake." A woman in her late-thirties, wearing a white nurse outfit and a well-rounded glasses, came in the room while holding what it seems to be medicines.

She then proceeds to close the door behind her gently and went ahead to place the medicines inside a closet.

While she do here thing, I asked, "Where am I, miss?"

"Ah! You're in the Infirmary inside the Academy." She answered my question with a smile. "Still, you should probably rest up. I don't know how you got this much injuries, so all I can say is that you should take care of yourself from now on. You know, the people who came here last time was too worried about you when they saw you in this shape."

"One of them looked like she was about to cry while holding your blanket." Said the nurse as her lips curled upward.

"I see..." I replied without showing much emotions. "I might consider that, I guess..." Resting my head back to the pillow behind me, I closed my eyes to rest.

Right now, the two things that I can only think about was about the dream from earlier, and where the dumb sword I obtained back in the dungeon is hiding.

Just when I was about to let out a sigh, I unconsciously flinched.

"I feel like tomorrow is going to be bad..." I accidentally spoke one of my thoughts aloud.

When the nurse heard this, she chuckled saying, "I'm sure it would."

Wait...

This nurse knew something I don't, doesn't she?

"Umm..." I was about to say something when the nurse suddenly raised her fingers to silence me, then spoke.

"You should learn how to deal with it tomorrow," She said. "You're definitely not about to be murdered by someone scary~" She said those words to me sarcastically.

And, it only added a few more confusion.

"What do you mean by murdered? Hey, wait!" Before I could ask anything else, the nurse left the room leaving me all alone, confused.

"No! M-maybe, that nurse was just joking around... Right... She was just playing with me..."

Probably... Right?
