Aftermath 1

'Athan' was about to help the other students not far from his direction when the latter didn't noticed that the black hole from earlier had suddenly shifted back into reality causing an explosion.

*Vuuuuu...*

*Bang!*

"?!"

It released a shockwave carrying a huge amount of dust while it was on it's way to them.

*Kuurk!*

Thankfully, the shockwave wasn't strong enough to deal any damage onto it's surroundings as it's strength was only comparable enough on a gust of wind that made his hair including his clothes, to sway.

When all the dust had finally cleared up, 'Athan' turned around and walked towards the giant crater, then sighed.

Stopping, he said, "What a follow up."

Although he said this with a smile, 'Athan' was still sas about his supposedly 'killer move' didn't look like a proper killing move. It ended only with an explosion without the enemy suffering from bleeding or some sort since his enemy was a machine with enhanced physical abilities and few lazer.

Contrary to what he had expected, to him, the fight ended quite disappointing.

"Now that I think of it, if killing move was included, I guess Arthur really is gifted only when thinking of a proper finishing move to end his opponent."

He didn't know why, but he felt envious.

Still...

"That monster should have used it's lazer eyes while it was on it's way to me!"

This was the one thing that disappointed him the most.

"Ugh! I wish I didn't end things quickly and waited for it to use it's late eyes." He constantly kicked in the air until he stepped on a rock and tripped, falling onto his bum.

"Damnit!" He made a cute pout with his arms crossed.

If one could see the expression he was making, even though he sometimes looked scary, they would no doubt squeeze his cheeks without hesitation.

A villain making a cute pout? On top of all a child!?

Why wouldn't anyone take advantage of that?

(A man's POV)

Darkness and despair...

These two are the only thing I am currently feeling.

My back was rested on the wall, my whole body were in pain, and I couldn't see what was in front of me because of the darkness that shrouded my whole surroundings.

I tried to open my mouth to breathe but this ended up being backfired.

"Cough! Cough!" I violently coughed out blood from my mouth, as I felt that my chest began to hurt so much... so much that it made me stop breathing for a moment.

𝘐 𝘨𝘶𝘦𝘴𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘪𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘦𝘯𝘥... After this thoughts of resignation entered my mind, I closed my eyelids as if accepting my fate...

But, right after that....

*Step.... Step....*

A sound of footsteps rang in my ear.

Or, probably, it was just my imagination. Maybe, I'm experiencing what some people used to talk about, like in their near death scenario.

*Step Step Step*

The footsteps I heard earlier became louder until it made me open my eyes.

"U alive?"

A soft and melodious voice entered my head, was this person been trying to find the remaining survivors? How did she(?) managed to defeat that monster?

No. I ignored my thoughts, as the girl took out a potion from her ring, then lifted my head up lightly as if she was helping me drink the potion.

Fortunately, because of this, I could finally see her appearance even though my eyes were still blurry, but... Looking at her crimson eyes and the charming smile on her face, only one thought crossed my mind.

This girl was an angel!

And I was currently being save by her!

When she finished emptying the bottle, the angel who had saved me placed the bottle back inside her ring.

I was about open my mouth to thank her when suddenly, an intense pain entered my chest that made me pass out completely.

"Kuuu...."

The only thing I regretted now was not being able to thank the angel, my savior, for saving me when I was hopelessly about to die alone in this dungeon...

(3rd World POV)

"I guess this was the last of them," Said 'Athan' as he scratched his cheeks and stretched his stiff shoulder around.

When he finally finished helping the other students out, he went ahead and walked towards where the five people who managed to slow the monster down up until he arrive.

'Athan' silently stared at Arthur and the others before shaking his head, then smiled as he looked at their reassured expression as if they somehow knew that he'll able to managed to handle the problem while they could rest peacefully.

Just by seeing their expression, one could understand that they fully entrusted their safety to the lad to end the fight without much trouble.

He didn't know why they had this expression so 'Athan' pondered for a moment.

Maybe, it was because of what their Professor Cossette said that they didn't think of anything else and place their full trust to 'Athan', who was the one to arrive late. Or, maybe because they didn't have any other choice but to do that.

The second one had obviously became his answer because he didn't know anything about the message that was sent by Cossette in the first place.

While surveying around his surroundings for a couple of times, 'Athan' had noticed that the four of his teammates was still gone missing.

He wasn't sure if they also encountered this same door when they escaped the room, nor if they had gotten injured when they where on their way to escape.

One thing 'Athan' prayed in his heart was for them to be safe and managed to got out of the core room safely to meet up with Cossette.

After helping the unconscious five to drink a potions, 'Athan' went around and stretched his arm up.

"This should be quick," Turning around and placing his black katana, except for his [Gluttonous Devourer] sword that was placed on his waist, back to his [Pocket Ring], 'Athan' walked towards the direction of where the crystalized girl had fell.

With his fingertips, he stroked them across the smooth crystal before knocking.

"Wakey, wakey!" 'Athan' knocked at the crystal with a grin. "If you don't wake up, I'll throw you out of the space." With that said, he slightly unsheathed his katana out.

The crystalized girl didn't made even a slight movement after hearing that threat. Because of this, 'Athan' just made a tired sigh.

Raising his head up to look at the ceiling, 'Athan' noticed that the ceiling had many cracks around them as the whole room suddenly made a slight vibration as if it was moving.

𝘐 𝘨𝘶𝘦𝘴𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘥𝘶𝘯𝘨𝘦𝘰𝘯 𝘩𝘢𝘴 𝘢𝘭𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘥𝘺 𝘣𝘦𝘦𝘯 𝘤𝘭𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘦𝘥... With this thoughts in mind, he sat down on the ground.

The room was slowly getting foggy, their surroundings started changing as well.

𝘐𝘵 𝘸𝘰𝘯'𝘵 𝘣𝘦 𝘭𝘰𝘯𝘨, 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘺'𝘭𝘭 𝘣𝘦 𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦 𝘴𝘰𝘰𝘯.

Realizing that he doesn't have much time left to stay longer in Athan's body, he decided to end things much more quickly by using his katana to knock himself out.

Somewhere within the dungeon.

"Hey, teacher, do you think they'll be able to survive?" As Darnom spoke, he turned his head around to look at their surroundings.

Cossette, who had been silent throughout the whole time, had finally decided to speak up to answer his question. "I'm sure they're fine," She said. "Besides, Athan should be with them by the time we reached them."

With a weird expression, the three stared at her back. "And how can that be?" They asked, seemingly still confused by what she commented earlier.

Hearing this, Cossette shook her shoulders. "I don't know. I kind of just trust my little brother wholeheartedly."

"Wait, you're his a brother?" The one who asked was Xavier. He had a surprised and slightly curious expression.

Cossette just nodded while saying, "Yeah. Am I right, Aries?"

Then, the three turned their attention to the girl who was walking behind them. Aries blinked a few times before tilting her head to ask.

"What's with that look?"

The three jjst shook their shoulders saying, "Nothing", as they decided to proceed to continue the search.

Cossette, who had been observing the trio play around smacking each other's head while whispering onto each other since earlier, made a smile without looking back.

𝘐 𝘨𝘶𝘦𝘴𝘴 𝘺𝘰𝘶'𝘷𝘦 𝘨𝘳𝘰𝘸𝘯 𝘶𝘱 𝘲𝘶𝘪𝘵𝘦 𝘢 𝘣𝘪𝘵, 𝘈𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘯.

With this thoughts in mind, when they've finally reached the huge door, Cossette made a gesture ordering them to stop.

Raising her fingers, she traced the wall's sides until her fingers went through a small hole.

"Found it," She then proceeds to push the door and stopped when it was slightly opened.

With a sigh, Cossette raised her hands and made a gesture. "Let's go," she ordered, not hiding any of her excitements.

Aries, Xavier, and the others included, all nodded their head.

"Right away."
