Everything Is Fine? 1

Inside Athan's sea of consciousness-- Danica could be seen briefly looking around at the destruction from the distance with a shocked look.

"W-what is this place...?" She asked herself, lifting her head to scrutinize her surrounding.

She then gazed her us up to look at the broken sky, that had cracks similar to a broken glass. Huge portion of it had fallen onto the sea like pieces of debris from the collapsing surroundings. She looked down to see the that the sea under her feet was gray, which also reflected her face and the collapsing world that was on the brink of destruction like a glass.

Danica took a few step back. She then asked herself, "How could he still remain sane with this kind of consciousness? ...Is he even human?" She was about to say something more when suddenly, a blue panel appeared in front of her covering the collapsing view.

There was an image of an unfamiliar person on the panel.

Curious, Danica walked towards it, as she slowly raised her hands to reached out to touch it.

It was then...

Clicking on the screen, she suddenly stopped. Her eyes went blank, as her mouth opened agape. Soon enough, she let out an agonizing scream after she that her head had suddenly been imprinted with a memory from someone she don't know.

Clutching onto her head with both hands tightly, Danica fell to her knees as she pounded her head to the grey sea-like floor; it was as if she was trying to kill herself... No, she was really trying to kill herself because of the pain.

This continued on for a few minutes until the pain slowly faded, soon vanishing away after she could finally calm herself down.

"Is this one of his past life memories?" Danica thought deeply. Her grip on both side of her head slowly weakened. She then continued, "Is every past lives' of his like this...? Is this why he said that I could only read 99 of his memories? I'll really go crazy if this continues..."

After pondering for awhile, Danica decided to stand up after she gained a little bit of her strength back. She then turned her attention back to the panel from earlier. "I better continue..." Danica bit her lower lips, before taking a long deep breathe to remove herself from her thoughts.

She was about to say something more when suddenly, she accidentally clicked onto the arrow from the side, causing the picture from the panel to change.

"Is this what he was talking about me being able to choose the memories of his that I wanted to see?" She pondered. After a few seconds later, she said to herself, "I guess I could somehow consider this convenient..." While she said this, Danica began to click on the arrow continiously until she finds a memory that look less traumatizing; or in other word, normal.

After 307 clicks in total, Danica finally stopped after seeing a photo of a beautiful woman with an aurburn-coloured hair, sitting alone under a beautiful sakura tree.

Soon after that, Danica took a deep breathe, as she gathered enough courage to click on the picture; then, waited for the memory to be imprinted to her head.

At first, this memory has shown something fine... Just joking, she actually ended up crying when she saw Beatrice (the Athan in this memory) ended up sacrificing her existence just to save some people, who's name was blurred, by making them forget who she was and making her forget who they was.

In the end, after Beatrice forget about her friends and her friends forget everything about her, she died while sitting alone under the shade of the sakura tree emotionlessly. She had actually forgotten how to show her emotions. And that pretty much explains why the picture was showing her sitting under the sakura tree.

After having a breakdown for a couple of hours, Danica finally calmed herself down and decided to move on with the next memory.

This time, the picture shows an ocean. In this memory, once again, Athan was still a girl. She had a cascading-long violet hair, with her noticible pupil that had a North Star-shaped inside... Indeed, in every moment Athan get reborn as a girl, his/her beauty is capable of rivaling a god.

This explains why Deus became a diehard fan of Athan when he saw a glimpse of his memories when Athan became a girl after drinking Mina's potion.

Anyway, back to where we last came off-- In this memory, Athan was a pirate captain, which she was known as the 'Pirate Empress' from the kingdom. Well, ironically, after a few years of traveling with her crew, she found out that she was the missing princess from the Imperial City.

She only found this out in her deathbed after getting stabbed by his little brother in the heart. It was when Athan was about to die when they found out that she and her little brother was set up by the Duke.

In the end, although her little brother had still managed to successfully maintain his position and soon became the King after his their father's death, Athan died in her little brothers arm.

Thus, after this memory finished, she took a brief break before continuing.

Few hours passed in a blink of an eye-

"Why is his past life like this...?" Danica thought, lowering her head as she pondered upon seeing the 89th of Athan's memories. At the 3rd of Athan's memories, on this time, he was now reborn as a man with a blond hair, and blue eyes. To explain things faster, Athan died saving from saving everyone. And like this, the 4th, [#2,231], he also died, but... The reason for his death was that he was betrayed by someone he held dearly.

Nonetheless, Danica then continued on watching his past live's memories.

And finally, Danica had reached the 99th, which should be the last time she could see his memory.

In this memory, Athan was born a boy. He had white hair, and crimson-coloured for his eyes. Probably, he was around 13 to 14 years-old when his first misfortune happened.

Both his parents died and sister died in an accident. After this, he was sent to orphanage, which was the day his daily hell began. He often got bullied because of his white hair and frail body. The latter would either be called as a vampire or zombie, and he would often get ganged up by the children there to beat him up; which could pretty much explains almost all of his a traumatic childhood.

When he was in his late-teen, Athan was later sent into a war as a soldier. There, he had to desperately fight for his life.

After a couple of years later, he became the commanding officer. Soon after the war was over, Athan was finally able to come back to the orphanage.

When the people from the orphanage saw him, not expecting him to still be alive, all of their expression turned grim. Later, Athan exact his revenge to his bullies by causing a bloody massacre on the orphanage, only leaving two children alive.

Thanks to his Commanding Officer Title, Athan did not get sent to prison after the incident got cover up by the kingdom. As for the two children he left alive, Athan adopted the two of them.

Although he treated them like his own son and daughter, in the end, their hunger for revenge consumed the two of them. His adopted son and daughter ended up killing him in the end.

The two regretted their actions for sure. Like him, they finally realized the burdens of what they've done too late. The two were later hunted down by the kingdom. Even though they've managed to escape, in the end of the story, both left the world after experiencing the same thing; both were betrayed by their son, daughter and disciples.

Like him, the two had been blinded by their revenge and ended up dying in the same situation.

After imprinting this memory in her mind was finally done, it took Danica a long time before she could process what she had just seen. Her eyes remained closed as well as she couldn't even open her mouth to say something; she was fully speechless.

*-Clank!*

"...Huh?"

Right when Danica was about to take a deep breath, she suddenly heard a sound of chains behind her back.

*Shiiiii-!*

Turning around, at the distance, she saw Athan, in his original body (Athan's body), sitting alone on a wooden chair, whilst tied with chains as he stared down at the sea-like floor emotionlessly.

She then tried getting closer... To which, she might have regretted too quickly.

[I want to die...]

Danica heard this faint whispers to her head the moment she took a step towards him.

Once again, she took a step...

[It hurts...]

*Step*

[Why do I have to feel this agony of death?]

[Why is it me?]

*Step*

[Why do I have to carry the life and death's misfortune?]

Danica stopped.

She stared at him for a couple of seconds before slowly raising her hands to reach out for him. Danica whispered, "Everything will be fine..." She hugged him.
