Texas (Mutant Children IV) Part 14

Landing softly, I knew we had reached the first location where the children would be.

I get out of the quinjet and look around.

It looks like an ordinary farmer's house, but I knew it was the right place.

When I look around with the others, I notice that Laura is behaving strangely. I see how she looks around confused and then looks at me and says:

"Alex, they're calling me, follow me" and without saying another word she started walking towards the open field ignoring the house. Without hesitation I follow her and the captain and the others do the same.

When we catch up with Laura, we see how she disappears behind a rock.

We immediately approach the rock and find some hidden stairs. We go down the stairs and when reach the bottom we find an open space.

I guess this place is an abandoned bunker.

While we are advancing through the place we found Laura, who was not alone now but there are 10 more children with her.

When I see the children, I breathe a sigh of relief.

But I also frown, because according to the information Sarah left me, besides Laura there are about 51 mutant children in total.

That just means I'll have to look for them in the other two locations.

Thinking about that I look for the computer that would have the information of the second location.

Sharon and Barbara ask me:

"What are you doing?"

"I'm looking for a computer" I reply without stopping looking.

When they heard and saw my actions, they quickly help me search.

Much to my annoyance, we didn't find a single computer.

The children looked at us curiously.

Noticing my annoyance, Laura looks at a boy who is also starting to look at her.

When I thought they were having a staring contest, I remembered something. These brats are mutants and from the way Laura acted before found this place and the way she looks at the boy, an ability came to mind.
