New York (X-Men and The Brotherhood VI) Part 6

Listening to my words, Professor Xavier with a smile on his face tells me:

"You're a good person" making everyone in the place agree.

"No, I'm not, I'm just an ordinary, handsome and charming guy who decided to help" I tell them that while keeping a serious expression with a touch of humility.

When they heard my words, the faces of all the men present twitched while the women only rolled their eyes at my «humble words».

Everyone present only had one sentence on their minds.

'What a shameless guy, since when is the common word accompanied by handsome and charming...'

"Cough... cough" coughing to attract attention, Professor Xavier turns his eyes towards me and says:

"Can I talk to the children?"

I accept, but I warn him not to use his powers to understand them and try to convince them using that.

"Besides, they are children, you don't need to tell them complicated things, you just have to show that they can trust you"

Still thinking about what I told him, he goes over to where the children are to talk to them.

Natasha walks up to me and tells me that my transport is due to arrive in about 12 minutes.

Still standing next to me, she asks me:

"Is it okay to advise him so he can win over the children?"

"It's okay" I reply without saying more.

Seeing my silence, she doesn't ask again.

Minutes later I see Professor Xavier return, when he arrives at my position, he asks me:

"You knew they wouldn't go with me, right?"

Looking at the children, without turning my eyes to Professor Xavier, I tell him:

"No, after all I don't understand the human heart"

With a smile Professor Xavier just says:

"I see"

After that, I look at the Professor and ask:

"So, what will you do now?"

"Nothing, I can only give you my support and if you need help, do not hesitate to let me know" says Professor Xavier.

When I was going to thank him, little Maria approaches me and says:

"Brother Alex, mutants are coming"

When she finished her words, I see how the Captain's shield vibrates and the surroundings of the warehouse do the same.

When I see that change, my face turns serious because I have an idea of the approaching group of mutants.

And when I heard the following, I knew who it was.

"I can't believe it Charles, entrusting our brothers and sisters to a homo sapiens, you have really disappointed me old friend"

I recognized him.

He is the man who loves the safety of his mind.
